Kathiyawadi Khadki Thali is a great place to enjoy a traditional and authentic Kathiyawadi dining experience. The thali offers an impressive variety of dishes, each thoughtfully prepared to reflect the rich flavors of the region. From the vibrant curries to the perfectly cooked rotis and the refreshing accompaniments, the meal was a wholesome and fulfilling experience. The taste of the food was undoubtedly good, and it was evident that a lot of effort had gone into maintaining the authenticity of the cuisine.
The pricing seemed fair for the variety and quantity offered, making it an accessible choice for those who enjoy hearty meals. However, there is noticeable room for improvement when it comes to the quality of certain items. A little more attention to the freshness of ingredients and the consistency of flavors could elevate the meal to an even higher standard. Small upgrades in this area would go a long way in making the dining experience more memorable.
Apart from the food, the overall ambiance and service added to the charm of the place. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant visit. While there are areas for improvement, the combination of good taste, reasonable pricing, and traditional flavors makes this restaurant worth recommending to anyone seeking authentic Kathiyawadi cuisine. With just a bit more focus on quality, this place has the potential to become a favorite spot for food...
Read moreVisited Vadodara on 15th May 2025 and had dinner at Shree Kathiyawadi Khadki (શ્રી કાઠિયાવાડી ખડકી). The place is right on 101, Race Course Road, Opp. INOX, so it's quite easy to find – we even asked an auto driver and he knew it immediately.
We reached there at around 7 PM, which is when dinner service starts. Within just 30 minutes, the place was almost full – clearly a popular spot among locals and tourists both. The ambience was clean, pleasant, and had a very homely feel.
We ordered 3 Kathiyawadi Thaalis, priced at Rs. 220 each. The final bill came to Rs. 693 (I've uploaded a photo of the bill too). The food was amazing and truly unlimited. The thali came with crisp papad, soft rotis, 3 different types of sabzi, 2 types of khichdi, kadhi, salad, one sweet item, and chilled chaas (buttermilk). Everything was flavorful and felt like authentic Kathiyawadi home-cooked food.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Vadodara and looking to try authentic Gujarati-Kathiyawadi cuisine. Great value for money, and the staff were polite and attentive too. A must-try if you're...
Read moreI took my 9 guests to this restaurant with hope of memorable dinner at this place but unfortunately it was disaster. We were total 10 persons but they don't have big table to sit together. They only have tables where 6 persons can seat together. We told to join 2 tables but they denied same with reason that they can't serve properly. We were ready to manage in their serving but they are not ready to co-operate. After much discussion we combined 2 tables by ourselves (They didn't even help in shifting table). We had ordered 3 different sabji but all were having same taste and that too was not authentic. They took 10-15min to just repeat rotis/parathas. As we didn't listen to them in combining tables, they didn't serve anything. There were many tables but only 3 were occupied along with us but they were still lacking in service. They only have one salad bowl that they were circulating among us. Just want to say " Naam bade aur darshan chhote" Never recommend this...
