Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the Trip Anymore

I had high expectations from Star Sea Food near Surat Airport, having enjoyed a great meal here two years ago. But my recent experiences have been frustrating and disappointing.

About six months ago, I came with six relatives and called the restaurant an hour before to prepare the food in advance. When we arrived, they served just three undercooked fish dishes costing over ₹2000. When I pointed it out, instead of taking responsibility, the owner blamed me for “hurrying” the order. The fish was barely edible, but we were charged the full amount—no apology, no discount.

Today, I came all the way from Ankleshwar—80 km—hoping to give it another chance. I reached around 3:00 PM and was told they were closing, and to come back at 6:00 PM. When I returned at 6:30 PM, they refused to serve biryani, saying I should have informed them an hour in advance. That too, after I had already spoken to them earlier.

This kind of careless attitude and lack of customer service is unacceptable—especially after traveling such a long distance. Star Sea Food has clearly lost the quality and hospitality it once had. I won’t be coming again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to...

I contacted the owner as per his response and was impressed with the care he displayed for his customers. He fulfilled his commitment for best service this time and I was very happy with both food items due to its excellent taste and quantity. Thus, I would like to forget the last experience assuming it as a coincidence and will expect similar service and food quality from the restaurant. Five stars by me this time!

Previous review: I ordered a prawn masala curry from this food centre through swiggy. The quantity of curry was 25% of what I expected and the curry was too oily and salty!! I paid the full amount for this curry without applying any coupon or discount expecting to get best quality however was very disappointed. It's a Bengali restaurant, and you will get Bengali food here. About the Ambience, it's good. Plenty of seating arrangements there. You can definitely go with your friends & partner for Bengali cuisine. And about the food, we ordered chicken biryani in Kolkata style. But we got just a touch of it. Taste was good. Chicken quantity & quality was awesome. But I must say it's a bit overpriced. 250₹ for chicken biryani is not worth it. & The very bad thing about it is the waiting period. It's too long.
