Iโm going, to be honest. I was having a rough weekend and my brother surprised me and treat me and my besty Nilofer Memon this Saturday evening and it becomes a memorable moment to relish and cherish.
Yi Jing Chinese Cusine specialities offer a culinary charm that certainly elevated my amazing dining experience, at ITC Narmada, Ahmedabad.
We started the Chinese fare with Jasmine tea that we relished after each serving. It was complimentary but each time when my mug gets empty it was filled with hot tea. Loved the service and hospitality a lot.
Then begin with a smattering of starters including โช๏ธStir-fried water cashew nut(singoda) (Gujarati ma singida na bhajiya), โช๏ธTofu with red chilli - These oval shapes of tofu were so delicious to enjoy on their own having amazing addition of sauces and stir-fried red chilis,
โช๏ธThe soup I ordered was quinoa soup with tofu gourd - I was impressed by its bursting rich aromatic broth, it was so nutrient-dense, delicious, and comfortable,
โช๏ธI am in love with its dim sums - hand-made dim sums are a must-try. When I punctured its thin outer skin, the dumpling almost explodes, flushing my palate with hot veggies, the sensation of having a bite was too pleasurable.
โช๏ธFor the main course, we had Wok tossed Hakka Noodles and the beauty of the noodles is its hand-made and Vegetable Fried Rice. It was subtle in taste and not heavy to the appetite. Fried rice I took for my home as well.
โช๏ธMango tart as dessert. Dessert stole the spotlight with detailing flavours of mango shrikhand filling having a taste of cheesecake with quality of the black sesame chiki as toppings.
The food was authentic and delicious with top-notch services. The best part I loved is the freshness of the ingredients in all dishes. The surrounding atmosphere plays an important role in creating emotional connections between a customer and the hotel and it is maintained very well here which results in ambience with positive vibes.
Thank you, Tejas Chef , and attendee Keshav for the wonderful food and services.
Rate wise it was not so high. Per dish, the cost is between 400 to 500/-. I will visit it with my friends and my nephew and sister to explore...
ย ย ย Read moreWhere do I start? I have high expectations from the ITC brand- which is the reason my partner and I went to Yi Jing!- to eat good, non-vegetarian Chinese food in Ahmedabad. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we entered a super bright, loud room- the decor or atmosphere of the restaurant was not at all at par with other ITC fine restaurants. Anyway, we were seated on a nice table, away from crying children and loud families however, the noise did not leave us. There was a family (pictured below) seated some tables away, they were loud, badly behaved and let their children run around, scream, shout and cry- thus disturbing our dinner completely. On asking the staff and manager several times to ask the family to remain quiet and maintain decorum, the staff and manager told us itโs out of their control which I found strange because this was a fine dining restaurant at a luxury hotel. Anyway, finally the manager tried to tell the family to remain quiet but I guess they were uncouth to bother. Thank God they left shortly after. Anyway, to make it worse, we ordered just 3 dishes. Prawn cheung fun, which was 3/5 stars so not bad. The other two, fried rice & teriyaki prawns took over 45 mins to arrive! Finally when the teriyaki prawns arrived- they were tasteless and had to be sent back. The restaurant manager was gracious enough to apologise for all the problems we faced, so he got back another dish of prawns which in my opinion was just spicy and nothing else, so 2/5. The restaurant manager was deeply apologetic and we had a word with him. A complimentary dessert was sent over and the prawns were not charged for. So my rating of 2 stars are all towards the gracious restaurant manager. Would I come again? perhaps reluctantly! I hope the hotel can work on this and make sure unruly diners...

Itโs rare to see such deep respect for dietary preferences combined with innovation and elegance in presentation. Every dish reflected care, balance, and a fresh perspective on mindful eating. The experience was not just a meal, but a journey into culinary philosophy and flavor.
A big round of applause to the chefs and team for bringing such authenticity and creativity to the table. Looking forward to many more such meaningful dining moments at ITC Narmada.
Big thank you to Yi Jing at ITC narmada for introducing a dedicated Jain menuโa rare and thoughtful initiative. Itโs not often that one gets to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine that aligns with Jain dietary preferences, and Yi Jing has done it exceptionally well.
The culinary team has clearly put in a lot of research and creativity, offering a unique and elevated experience. Highlights include the lotus stem, sweet corn soup, and especially the cumin mock meatโa true hot favorite and an instant hit. Each dish reflects finesse, authenticity, and a deep understanding of flavors.
This effort sets a new benchmark in inclusive fine dining. Kudos to the chefs and team for creating something so special. Looking forward to coming back and recommending this...
