Sitting high amid the humdrum of Sadar bazar, this outlet caters to your hunger pangs after you have walked around enough to shop in Sadar bazar. They have got a limited but comfy menu which includes Paneer pakoda, Chawal Chholey, Kachoris, Aloo Tikki, Dahi Bhalla, Dhokla, Rasgulla, Gulab Jamun, Kulfi, Lassi and recently added Pav Bhaji. But my favourite items there are Chholey Bhaturey, Dhokla, Kachori & Lassi.
Bhaturas are nicely fried, though the pithhi could be little more. Chholeys are Pindi style without onion & tomato and have got well balanced flavor. It is served with chopped onion, achaar and spiced thick green chilli. Dahi Bhalla and Dhokla tastes fresh and flavourful. Dhokla could do with little less sugar syrup though.
On the sweet side, their gulab jamuns are soft, nicely cooked and make u feel wanting for more. Their sweet lassi in plastic glasses seems to be sourced from Shaam sweets nearby. It is fulfilling too after consuming hot and spicy items.
On weekends you may have to wait for 5-7 mins before you find place to sit. It gets stuffy there with the full house, especially on a warm day. Their service guys could do little better on cleaning tables properly, taking orders without you having to call out and delivering it to you in time. At times they sound impatient and service is not up to the mark, but the decent taste and not too expensive price saves the day for everybody.
Recently they have increased the prices by approx 10-15% (observed in Sep 22), thanks to the unbridled inflation. Meal for two costs around 250-350. I will still recommend it as one of the few good joints to eat in...

However, the popularity of this delightful dish comes with a downside – the restaurant is often bustling with crowds. On peak days, securing a table can be a challenge, and the vibrant atmosphere occasionally leans towards the chaotic. Despite the occasional wait, the staff at Baljee Restaurant does an admirable job of managing the crowds efficiently and maintaining a...
Read moreThe restaurant is fine.... But the staff has no manners to talk and even the old aged person sitting at the counter supports the staff and treats the customers as his dogs.... I just know that they should treat the customers well and not insult them just out of their greed.... Ki ab toh chal gya h... Kya farak padhta h.... They should remember that he is earning well because we all are buying from him... Otherwise... We all know... If you have patience then only you should visit it... Anyways there are many restaurants in gurgaon to satisfy our tastes......
