Tucked inside Museo Camera—a unique museum boasting an impressive collection of over 2500 vintage cameras—lies Fig, a quirky yet charming cafe that's so much more than just a food haven. With its beautiful museum entrance, stunning interiors, and comfortable outdoor seating nestled amidst greenery, Fig promises an ambiance that is both eclectic and relaxed.
During my many visits, I've consistently been impressed and enchanted by the tantalizing dishes served here. The food, from the perfectly spiced handmade pastas to the Middle-East style grilled chicken, will win you over effortlessly. Special mentions go to the delectable salads, unique blends of tea and coffee, and the rich wood-fired pizzas. While the menu is varied, it maintains a focus on authenticity and taste, often sprinkled with a touch of innovation. For those with a sweet tooth, the desserts provide a delightful culmination to the meal.
Being located within Museo Camera has its perks. Beyond the delightful ambiance, patrons have the chance to immerse themselves in the visual wonders of the museum. And if the curated collection isn't enticing enough, the cafe's Instagram-worthy dishes and settings surely will be. Before departing, don't forget to pick up your complimentary postcards—a cherished keepsake of your visit.
However, top-quality often comes at a price—a somewhat steep one, in this case. Yet, in my opinion, the overall experience wholly justifies the expense.
A word of caution: owing to the cafe's popularity, especially on weekends, it's best to drop by during non-peak hours to ensure a tranquil experience.
In summary, Fig at Museo isn't just another cafe in the city—it's a mesmerizing blend of culinary artistry and cultural elegance. If you're in the vicinity, a visit...
Read moreEveryone wants a good relaxing weekend. I planned the same with my husband and decide to visit Fig@Museo cafe today (March 6) and pre-booked the table considering its a Sunday. You can see in the screenshot attached, the cafe mentioned that instead of walk-ins, they are taking reservations only. Unfortunately, it seems to be vice a versa when we visited. We were asked to wait even on reaching in time (which is fine, I understand at times it takes time to make arrangements). What I, as a customer DO NOT ACCEPT, is (i) false/incorrect commitment (ii) a bad behaviour.
There was table vacant outside and people who are seated inside are running to grab the table with their plates and glasses in hand. The cafe staff doing nothing, and we ( me and my husband) still standing to get the table. The cafe staff did nothing. Upon asking one of the cafe person who asked us to wait, he actually forgot that we are waiting. When we showed our disatisfaction, he comes back to us stating you don't know how much pressure it goes to manage and we should not teach him his job. Cheery on the top, the person has the audacity to ask us to leave as he can not provide us the table.
Humble request and advice to the cafe owner, please do not do false commitment. If you can not take table reservations on weekends then please don't commit. Secondly, the behaviour of your employee- if a customer is not satisfied, they will raise it to you only. Hope they learn how to handle that. Thank you for leaving a bitter taste on a lovely Sunday Afternoon....
Read moreYeah well, nobody cares about you or what you want to eat or drink, they only serve what they serve.
The mocha was meh at best, it was stuffed with dark chocolate at the bottom of the cup, frozen, which melted into my mouth at the end of the coffee, not a good experience at all. They had an extravagant burger which was average in taste and very good looking. We weren't served any water for the longest time, didn't get service at our table for the longest time and was just a really sad and expensive affair to be honest. The mezze platter with chicken has WAY too much oil in the chicken, it's meant to be grilled and not with tadka! The baba ganoush on the platter was burnt with garlic, so you would only be able to have a very very tiny amount or it would burn your tongue. It was also greyish black in color which is not how bana ganoush is supposed to look. The toum was at the consistency of cheesez very very thick and tasted almost like yoghurt instead of toum. The hummus was okay at best, nothing extraordinary.
Definitely not recommended to visit of you're going for the food or the average service at such a high cost.
Would recommend for the museum and the view and the peaceful environment maintained...
