Beware of the Hidden Hazard: Bed Bugs in the "Khatiya" Seating Area!

While the food quality at this establishment is satisfactory, my recent visit was marred by a disturbing experience. The restaurant's attempt to recreate a roadside dhaba ambiance by incorporating a "Khatiya" (a traditional Indian cot) seating area falls short when it comes to maintenance and hygiene.

Unbeknownst to us, the "Khatiya" was infested with bed bugs, which left us with uncomfortable bites and a lasting impression of poor service. To our dismay, the staff seemed nonchalant about the issue, revealing that similar complaints had been lodged by previous customers. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for customer well-being is unacceptable, especially in a fancy restaurant that prides itself on its decor.

Before sitting down, make sure to inquire about the seating area's cleanliness and bed bug status. It's crucial to prioritize your health and comfort. Unfortunately, our experience was a stark reminder that even upscale establishments can falter when it comes to basic hygiene standards. Until they address this issue, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

This is a fairly new restaurant and I get why the prices are so high. The restaurant is situated in the Food Court of Avani Mall, Howrah. It is a Punjabi restaurant where the theme is a person driving a truck. The place has quite a good ambience and it's unique. There is a large fake tree which is supposed to provide the vibe of a roadside dhaba, the ones which are under large Banyan trees. Large tables are also available for large groups. Lighting is such that it invokes a friendly feeling. There are cots adorned with long pillows which have a very kingly thing to it. Let's talk about the food. This is the point, I have some problems. Every dish is very costly and they are not doing justice because it ain't that good. Also, the quantity is minimal. I am disappointed in the starters too, because they generally have 5 or 4 pieces, which is very hard to share in case there are large groups. But on the plus side, they give Papad while you wait, a good assortment to munch on. The chutneys, there are four, Mango, sweet Imli, Dahi and Green, are really great. I was waiting for such a restaurant for a long time to have the most delicious food. The prices are a bit high for some but thanks to Hungry Sardar for serving such mouth-watering dishes. The ambiance of this place is quite nice and it is unique. There is a big fake tree which provides the ambiance of a dhaba on the roadside, under big banyan trees. Larger tables are also available for larger groups. The lighting is such that it creates a friendly feeling. There are cots decorated with long pillows which look very regal.

The staff is very friendly and you will get prom service, let's talk about the food. While you wait for food they give you papad, which is a good option to eat. There are four types of chutney, mango, sweet tamarind, curd and green chutney, they are really good.

I had butter tandoori, dal makhani and patiala chicken bharta, all of them tasted amazing and also don't forget to try their Lassi.
