I VISITED ON 18TH MAY 2025. CONSIDER THIS a GENUINE REVIEW
Ugh, where do I even begin with the absolute disaster that is "The 99 Thali Shop" at Avani Mall? Calling it a "thali shop" feels like an insult to actual food. My recent experience there was nothing short of a culinary nightmare, and I'm still reeling from the sheer audacity of what they served.
First off, let's talk about the "paneer." I put "paneer" in quotes because whatever rubbery, white substance they dared to call paneer tasted suspiciously like phenyl. Yes, you read that right. Phenyl! Each bite was a horrifying chemical assault on my taste buds. I actually had to spit it out – it was that repulsive. I'm genuinely concerned about what exactly they're serving and if it's even remotely safe for consumption.
Moving on to the other "delicacies" on this so-called thali. The dal was a watery, insipid excuse for lentils. It had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, resembling dishwater more than actual dal. Then there was the potato curry, which was equally offensive. Imagine boiled potatoes swimming in colored water with a generous sprinkling of raw chilli powder. That's precisely what they presented. It was gritty, unbalanced, and utterly tasteless, save for the burning sensation from the undissolved chilli.
And the rice? Oh, the rice! It was served practically raw and undercooked, with a disconcerting crunch in every bite. It felt like they hadn't even bothered to cook it properly. Eating it was a laborious and unpleasant task.
To add insult to injury, it seems "The 99 Thali Shop" has decided to drastically inflate their prices. I noticed that the cost of the thali has increased by more than 25% since my last visit. For this exorbitant price, one would expect decent, edible food, not this vile concoction they're passing off as a meal.
Honestly, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food was inedible, the quality was appalling, and the price hike is simply outrageous. Save your money and your taste buds – avoid "The 99 Thali Shop" at Avani Mall like the plague. You'd be better off eating street food from a questionable vendor than subjecting yourself to this culinary abomination. This place deserves zero stars, and I strongly advise everyone to steer clear.
Infact when I confronted the Cash counter guy, he steered clear by telling me that, they don't cook here, and food is cooked at some other location.

Read moreOrdered from them on Swiggy and I can't even come to describe HOW BAD IT WAS. It was way too salty and chickens were undercooked and had some artificial smell?? I can't pinpoint but it smelled quite close to plastic? I might be wrong but the smell was bad enough to make a person question that is the food even edible!? The parathas I swear might the oiliest one one could find, Maybe street food has less oil than this. Coming to rice, what lowest of quality grains they are using I don't know but if they come to justify for the price then I need to inform that you can't feed people garbage saying the price is cheap! They should rather focus on quality than quantity. And seriously is this what you call chicken?? I don't even need to talk about taste because I could taste nothing but salt and foul chicken. I hate to waste food but I had no option because I can't make myself ill by eating that. This restaurant seriously need to be checked by...
