I recently had the pleasure of revisiting Skylark Restaurant after a decade, and I am thrilled to share that the place has managed to maintain its charm and quality over the years. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and a sense of familiarity that instantly made me feel at home.

Before you read my review, I want to you please read the attached photograph with this review. I was on a official visit to Kolkata. Since I am vegetarian, I thought of going a veg restaurant and landup in Skylark. I will divide my review in various sections people usually come across during dining.

Hospitality and attender responses I would the hospitality in this was not that pleasent. Staff was busy doing their own stuff and the response towards the guests also was very poor.

Food Quality In terms of food taste, initially I found the taste to be very good, but later one of cousin found one HOUSEFLY in the food and that was the game changing moment. I can understand that these kind of things can happen to any restaurant, but the point that hurt me during the visit was that, no body respond to our query, when we showed the housefly to them. He simply took our plate back, which i thought he will give us new but no body turned back. And the remaining beauty I found in my bill, it was added in the bill also. I told the person sitting on counter about this he tried to bribe me by offering juice for the compensation.

Ambience Ambience wise its decent, seats were comfortable, dining tables were well cleaned and the hall is air-conditioned . But there are chances that you may come across few flies and insects if you opt any corner seat.

Location Location wise its very good. It is on the first floor and exactly on the main road. It almost a couple of KM far from Howrah Railway Station under Indian Railways.

At the end of this review I would like say "My intention is not to defame the restaurant in anyway, I have just shared a genuine experience at Skylark...

Despite my opposition, I got dragged to the place but the decor and outlook changed my stand at first instance that it will be a great dining experience. okay, now my nightmare come true part. Ordered for a Biryani. While ordering, I was suggested by the waiter to take some gravy item too with biryani as it is a dry item. Well it must be mentioned that they serve biryani with boondi raita, which is not a dry item. So the waiter could have stopped giving unwanted suggestion that was not asked for. Well, the FIFO ( First In, First Out) does not apply to this place. They follow a pure randomised mode of fulfilling the order. We waited and waited. Well Yalana at Shillong was much better that this. In this case, i might have finished lunch elsewhere and come back. Yet I would not find any thing on my platter. Well, it did come after much delay. It was okay okay. But HEY WHERE IS THE BOONDI RAITA that comes with it. Hahahaha, it came after I had finished the biryani. If Azad Hind Dhaba at Gariahat pinched my pocket, this one punched my pocket. It was cocktail of all the cons of waiting time of YALANA at Shillong, KEVENTERS at Darjeeling and price pinch of AZAD hind. I found them better even on these cons. Skylark is the place for you only if you have time and money to waste. Honestly, there are much better...
