With Hyderabad expanding beyond prime areas and much more, each area is becoming a foodie's hub by itself where you get anything and everything within your 5-10 km of radius. I was always thinking that delicious food is scarce in my location and its vicinity and recently I visited BIRYANI PATNAM recently opened a biryani joint in Kukpatpally, not far from my place.
Being so close to my place and indeed name ringing Biryani, that got me, a cute yet spacious place opened newly having the good family vibes is a proper setup for a residential area like Kukatpally. The place packs a quite compact menu, while I was more focussed on the biryanis but they also have starters and Chinese options as well.
We started with Paneer Tikka, Chicken Majestic, Malai Chicken, and Loose Prawns. Covering each section of their appetizers menu, I felt though basic flavors were good each dish lacked something or another. Paneer tikka lacked the smokey flavor, chicken majestic was ok-ish, malai chicken was too dry and less of malai and loose prawns lacked flavors. I think they got the basics right but need to make it more delectable andl likable.
Then we were treated with Afghani Chicken and Mutton Masala from mains served with hot and piping butter naans. I was spellbound by both of them. Mainly the Afghani chicken (unique creamy chicken curry wrapped in fluffy omlette) was a SHOW STOPPER of a dish with that creamy curry, the naan went in beautifully well. A MUST TRY here. Not so far behind was the aptly spiced and beautifully flavored MUTTON MASALA and I personally loved the after-heat tasting it.
We got onto what I came for - BIRYANI. We tried Chicken Dum Biryani, Ghee Roast Kaju Egg Biryani, and Mutton Fry Piece Biryani. While all three looked the same, believe me, the flavors were extremely different and varied. What I loved about their biryanis was they were not so spicy and not so heavy. You can easily gorge on them even as a single portion. Having options on serving - single, handi and family pack, you can gorge on your biryani cravings by yourself or with your family or friends.
While everything went fine, unfortunately, had no desserts and only had Kobbari Paalu which was a good quencher after the spicy affair we had but it had a tad over sweetness from sugar. They could have done with honey or jagger for health benefits.
Overall I felt the place pleasantly surprised me in terms of their food mainly their curries and I'm definitely ordering them. They do have to work on their starters and make more dessert options but their biryanis are...
Read moreBiryanipatnam is a newly opened restaurant in the Kukatpally area that serves a wide range of regional appetizers, biryanis and what not. The place has a very decent ambience with a good 50 seater space.
For food, I began my evening with Rani Gari Kori Vepudu, Tangdi Kebab and Chitti Royyala Vepudu. The Rani gari kori vepudu was a nice chicken starter. Tossed in loads of Green Chilli and Curry leaves, this one would surely be your favourite.
Tangdi kebab:- I somehow felt that the marination of the chicken was not up to the mark. The meat was cooked very nicely but I feel that it did not absorb the spices properly.
Chitti Royyala Vepudu:- The classic Andhra style prawn fry was quite delicious. Despite the minimal ingredients and an easy recipe to work around, the flavour of the prawn fry was outstandingly good. Must try.
For biryanis, I tasted their Kaju keema biryani and the Prawns Biryani. The Kaju keema biryani was prepared with lots of spices and curry leaves topped on long and grainy aromatic rice. The mutton shreds were very flavourful.
Next up, the Prawns Biryani was also lip-smacking. The masala mix with the fluffy rice was just out of the world. Must try.
To cool down the heat from the food, there was also even Kobbari Pallu. It just stands for Coconut milk. Very tasty.
Overall, my verdict would be that there needs to be an emphasis on the service. The staff needs to understand that the food needs to be served with uniformity and they should be proactive. I hope that with these small changes, they will surely build a good rapport in the market....
Read moreThe most typical authentic Hyderabadi Biriyani’s can be tasted at this place.. Food : 8/10 Ambiance : 9/10 Services : 10/10 We have ordered for the malai chicken kabab which was okaish.. it has lacked some flavours and was a dry item. This could be made much more better.
And then since the place is famous for it’s Biriyani’s We have tried the Chicken dum Biriyani The Biriyani was so flavourful, chicken lovers can definitely try this Biriyani. The rice was long and the taste was so good.
Ghee roast kaju mutton Biriyani This was so so so tasty. Definitely the typical Hyderabadi style mutton Biriyani. The mutton was tender and juicy. I loved the mutton Biriyani more than the chicken Biriyani. The masala was so tasty and the marination was well seasoned with all the flavours. If u are a mutton lover try the mutton Biriyani.
The services were just amazing. The person (maybe the incharge over Der) was very approachable and was very interactive. The staff is really nice and friendly.
The sitting area is small. (Maybe 20 -25 tables) which is a 4 seater and even 8 seater tables are are Der. The interiors were nice and gave us a good
The best part was NO SERVICE TAX The restaurant doesn’t charge us with CGST nor SGST there is no tax at all for the customers who visit this place. There idea is to make the customers happy who ever visits this place.
Definitely I would recommend this place. This place is worth a try, and you will definitely fall in love...
