I called in the morning to book a table at 7pm for 10 persons. They refused to reserve a table & requested to walk-in. 3 persons reached at 7pm & asked for the table. They refused to allocate table saying let all persons reach the restaurant to allocate the table & asked to sit at the waiting hall where it was difficult to wait with biting mosquitos. Realizing that I am writing review, same executive came & asked us to sit inside. Other persons reached in 10 minutes. Story not ended there. We requested the waitress to wait for some time to take order. She left & came after we reminding her & responded rudely when we ask the reason for delay. We called her ‘madam’ with respect during our stay. Finally, when I included her tip in the bill on insisting, she returned it saying seems I paid more. Because, she was not satisfied & she literally made us to vacate the place blabbering non-sense. We come to restaurant for relaxation, just not to eat food. To eat food we can go to food truck where food is good at reasonable price. I paid less tip intentionally to make realize her rude behavior & overall poor service. Long way to go to experience awful hospitality from Chatneys. They should train their staff to behave politely with customers (guests). Tip should be earned with politeness, not with demand. Last, but not the least. We requested one executive to click our group pic. In all pics he failed to cover all of us. Only 7 persons covered. It’s our mistake we did not check with over confidence going by the get up of the executive who assured best service next time.🤦♂️🤦♂️ May be he reserved rest of the 2 persons for...
Read moreHave been going to Chutneys, Kphb for the last 5 years. Must say, once, known for quality vegeterian food, it has gone down the drain drastically in recent times. Same masala gravy for most curries, too much oil in masala papad. It has been pathetic. Lunch and dinner menu had gone down some time ago. But, today we discovered even the main USP i.e. breakfast items also have gone down as dramatically. Karam Dosa, hardly had karam, the fresh, steaminess of idlis are no where close to how it once was. Just last year they had renovated to expand the hotel premises. Since then there has been a steep degradation. The worst hit has been service behavior which has fallen down drastically. They force you to sit in certain congested sections of the hotel, by stating they weren't serving in certain parts of the hotel, only to find others were allowed to sit there. And there is no difference in costs as well. They neither served Sambar, didn't ask for any beverages, like tea, coffee. During Covid when things were tough in hotel industry, we supported the hotel and went frequently, when no one was going. We have waited for 30-40 mins during peak weekends for eating at Chutneys. We have so many family get togethers, happy memories with friends and families. Sad to see the fall of Chutneys today. Hope the owners realize investing in expanding premises must also include improvement in food and good service which has fallen to bottom of the ocean. Sorry to say, I will not recommend Chutneys to...
Read moreWe always love Chutney's. The first time we ate at the Jubliee Hills Chutney's. Their thali was lovely when we had there the first time. The prices seemed too high, but their taste was exquisite. Their soft upma which is made with ghee is absolutely my favorite, so we visit the Chutney's at KPHB as it's close to us. We ordered Tomato Soup, Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala, Rumali Roti, Roti, Fried Rice and Plain Dosa for our toddler.
The Good: The chutney's of course are absolutely delicious. Their service is always very good and their staff is always ready to help. We were seated almost immediately, which is very difficult as Chutney's is always a very busy place. The food was really good. The rumali roti wasn't as expected which is why I have taken out one star. The roti was delicious which my toddler preferred to the dosa. The paneer in both the Paneer Butter Masala and Palak Paneer was extremely good. The soup was good good too which our toddler liked.
The Bad: The Fried Rice was just terrible. It had peas which changed the whole taste and texture of the Fried Rice. There were just so many peas that we couldn't taste the rice or any other vegetables. Both the paneer curries tasted exactly the same. They were delicious but they tasted exactly the same. The Rumali Roti went crisp in a matter or seconds which was a little disappointing.
The Ugly: There wasn't anything that I didn't really...
