Disappointed by the unprofessional behavior during IPL screening
We came to Groove 9 to catch the final moments of the IPL match after another café nearby closed early. Since we had already eaten, we stood near the projector screen (like many others) just to watch the game. A waitress approached us and asked if we were ordering or just watching—we told her we were just here to watch, and she said “okay” and walked away. No one mentioned any requirement to order something.
After the match ended, while we were leaving, a waiter stopped us and insisted we show a bill for food ordered. We explained that we didn’t eat and had already spoken to the waitress earlier. He refused to let us exit and said, “You can’t leave without paying.” One of us even bought a water bottle just to resolve the issue, but he said it wasn’t enough. Eventually, the manager came and, instead of listening, he murmured, “What can we do with such people,” and told the staff to let us go.
This entire interaction felt unprofessional, aggressive, and disrespectful. If there were any rules about mandatory ordering, they should have been clearly stated at the entrance or communicated upfront—not sprung on guests after the match.
We will not be visiting again, and I hope the management reflects on how to treat customers with...
Read moreDon't let the unkept landscaping fool you! The food here was amazing! I was quite surprised with the service and the food, after looking at the outdoor seating. But I have an inkling that it may be a bit better in the evenings with the lights on.
Cottage Cheese Skewers - surprisingly the batter on the deep-fried paneer, was well flavored and a bit spicy too, which I thoroughly enjoyed Baked Chicken Steak - I TRULY enjoyed the seasoning and perfectly softened, yet the original flavor of the vegetables. The chicken was quite tender and came apart when pulled with just a knife. The Mashed potatoes, could have been a little bit smoother, yet it was seasoned well and tasted good. The sauce of mushroom and cheese over the chicken, was yummy! and was served in a good quantity where we could scoop up some with every bite of chicken. Cinnabon - I was really impressed that they actually had the dessert and moreover warmed it up and brought it to us, and it tasted superb! Hazelnut Cappacino - Had good flavors of both coffee and hazelnut and was thoroughly impressed.
We dropped by this place because it was the closest and the first thing that popped up near us. But it was well worth it as I enjoyed the food and the service was great. From the valet to the check, everyone was very respectful and polite and served us...
Read moreIt was in my Zomato bookmark for a long time, finally visited on 26th June,21. Had a high expectation with it since it's rated 4+. I would summarize my experience below-
Positives- Garden setup Lighting Valet parking Decent Crowd
Didn’t like- Infrastructure seems quite unhygienic, the seating arrangement was dirty and chaotic(had to self manage the chairs for the group), washrooms were really in bad condition) Food: Was the biggest disappointment None of the items were having their expected taste. We ordered - Veg Platters, Paneer skewers, Paneer finger role, Pizza, Pasta and couple of beverages Except for pasta and Coffee, I didn't like the taste of any item, they were so bland in taste. Being moderately priced or budget-friendly doesn't mean you need to compromise on the quality of the food.
As it was busy Sat evening it seems a little crowded, waiters were in a rush of everything from taking orders to delivering items(multiple reminders for stuff) All in all, it was not an experience that a customer wants. When someone visits a Restaurant/café he needs a good environment and quality food. I am not sure what was the reason for the above experience but I certainly did not enjoy being here, Moreover, wasted 2.5 Hrs. travel to and fro...
