IKEA's own restaurant are all over the world and the taste is cross-cultural. Every store includes a restaurant serving traditional Swedish food, including potatoes with Swedish meatballs.79 In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the usual boiled or mashed potatoes have been replaced with French fries; meanwhile in Indonesia, the usual Swedish Meatballs recipe are changed to accommodate the country's Halal requirements. Besides these Swedish foods, hot dogs and drinks are also sold, along with a few varieties of the local cuisine, and beverages such as lingonberry juice. Also items such as prinsesstårta (princess cake) are sold as desserts. Stores in Israel sell kosher food with a high degree of rabbinical supervision.81] The kosher restaurants are separated into dairy and meat areas; falafel and non-dairy ice cream are available at the exit. IKEA stores in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates serve chicken shawarma at the exit café as well as beef hot dogs, while in United Kingdom, a Quorn hot dog is available in the exit café.[82] Coffee, soft drinks, and tea refills are free, as like in Sweden within store premises. All of the stores are equipped with Nordic fruit drinks since 2017, replacing Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
In many locations, the IKEA restaurants open daily before the rest of the store and serve an inexpensive breakfast.[83[85]
Every store also has a Swedish Food Market that, until 2011, sold branded Swedish prepared specialist foods, such as meatballs, packages of gravy, lingonberry jam, various biscuits and crackers, and salmon and fish roe spread. Later, IKEA replaced most of the branded foods and extended its product range with the introduction of the IKEA food label. The new label has a variety of items including chocolates, meatballs, jams, pancakes, salmon, along with various drinks. All food products are based on Swedish recipes...

Read moreIt's safe to say my recent visit to the Ikea restaurant in Nallagandla left a taste in my mouth far sourer than any lingonberry jam they might offer. What I encountered was a masterclass in how to simultaneously disappoint on both quality and quantity, all while charging prices that suggest a far more premium experience.
Let's talk about the food itself. The portions were laughably small, feeling more like sad little samples than actual meals. The "Swedish meatballs," a dish one might assume Ikea could nail, were dry and bland, a far cry from the comforting fare I'd hoped for. The accompanying mashed potatoes seemed to have achieved a remarkable level of gluey consistency, and the gravy was watery and devoid of any discernible flavor. For the price point, I expected something substantially more satisfying and, frankly, edible.
Adding insult to injury was the service, specifically from a staff member named Veeru. Simple instructions were met with blank stares, and requests were repeatedly ignored. It was an exercise in patience that I, frankly, didn't sign up for when seeking a quick and convenient meal. Having to repeatedly ask for items that should have been delivered in the first place is simply unacceptable.
The entire experience felt like a blatant disregard for value. I left feeling significantly lighter in the wallet and utterly unsatisfied in the stomach. Ikea, you've furnished my home with affordable and functional items, but your restaurant is serving up overpriced mediocrity with a side of frustratingly inattentive service. Save your money and grab a snack elsewhere before navigating the labyrinth of furniture. You'll...
