Review of Hotel Westin:
I recently had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Westin, and I must say that my experience was quite mixed. While the hotel has some positive aspects, there were several significant drawbacks that left me feeling disappointed.
One of the main issues I encountered was the lack of a proper travel desk facility for guests. This made it challenging for me to arrange transportation to nearby attractions, such as Srisailam Malikarjun, which was quite inconvenient.
The room conditions were also subpar. I noticed that the lights in my room were flickering, which created an unpleasant and uncomfortable ambiance. Furthermore, the cleaning service was not up to par, as amenities were not properly refilled, and certain areas, like the glass and other items, were neglected during housekeeping.
Adding to my dissatisfaction, the cordless phone in my room was not functioning, despite repeated complaints. Additionally, the maintenance of the bathroom was lacking, as the bathroom dryer was not working, further adding to the inconveniences.
The standard for drinking water was inconsistent during my stay. On the first day, water was provided in glass bottles, which seemed environmentally friendly, but the next day, plastic bottles were used instead, which was quite puzzling and not in line with sustainable practices.
The size of the toilet area was disappointingly small, making it uncomfortable to use. The overall communication at the reception was also confusing and lacked transparency, leading to frustration in resolving any issues that arose.
However, there were a few bright spots during my stay. The breakfast team was exceptional, providing excellent service and making the dining experience enjoyable. Sadly, the same level of quality was not maintained in the hotel's restaurant. While the menu offered a wide variety of options, the actual availability of dishes was limited, leaving a lot to be desired.
The hotel's dynamic pricing policy was also a letdown, as it seemed to prioritize profit over fair pricing for guests. This left me feeling like the hotel was not fully committed to customer satisfaction or treating guests fairly.
The only reason I would give this hotel a three-star rating is because of the courtesy and professionalism displayed by the staff. Despite the issues I encountered, the hotel staff were polite and tried their best to address my concerns.
In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Westin was underwhelming due to the lack of proper facilities, cleanliness issues, and inconsistent service. While the breakfast team and staff courtesy were commendable, these positive aspects were overshadowed by the overall dissatisfaction I experienced. I hope that the hotel management takes these concerns seriously and makes significant improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for...
Read moreWhen I stepped into the hotel, it didn’t feel like a 2 week business trip. From the beauty of the hotel to the most accommodating staff, I honestly felt I was away at an all inclusive getaway.
I was being pampered from having the door opened for me, to getting the elevator for me, to having my water poured for me when dining. There was not a convenience missed. The laundry service was amazing. They would pick up in the morning, and I would have returned folded/hung up back in my room at the end of the day. My room was cleaned spotless every day and house keeping made sure everything was restocked. I never needed to request anything. And how adorable they were with putting origami animals made out of towels in my room. Oh how it bought a smile to my face!
The car service and drivers were amazing. We used the service daily and watching them navigate around the city was incredible! There was always water in the car and A/C running. Each driver was so courteous and sweet. They even provided us umbrellas one day we went out for a weekend outing. Very considerate of us all.
The different dining choices were amazing…from the buffet breakfast, sit down dining, to room service everything was delicious. If there was something special that was not on the menu, the chef did not hesitate to make for me.
My favorite place to frequent at the hotel was the “treats” area. The different desserts they served were incredible. It was my mission to indulge on each of the individual desserts. Mission accomplished! What a great way to end my work day by visiting Sahil Raj, having a caramel latte , a delicious dessert and wonderful conversation. Sahil was very attentive to all the guests. He would remember my favorite drink and my name. He always checked to see how my day was. Always asking if there was anything I needed.
Everyone working at the hotel would make sure we all had everything, and if there was anything needed, they were right there to provide.
Then there was Sam and Mego. How wonderful these ladies were during and even after my stay. When I was visiting they were in constant contact to make sure everything was great and checked in to see if there was anything they could do to make my stay better . Even after coming home, I have received a few “hello” and “hope you are well” messages. Both Sam and Mego were so kind and sweet to make sure my stay away from home, was more like my home away from home.
There are so many other wonderful attributes to this hotel from the lounge on 25 and the wonderful staff, the spa area, shopping and pool.
What a great experience it was to stay here and I am so looking forward to...
Read moreI had a wonderful stay at Westin. I had no major problems as such. One of the highlights were my therapies in The heavenly spa. I recall a balinese massage from Lucy which was remarkable and took me to a different place. The food can be improved but there were some dishes which I loved, like the thai Green curry, breakfast croissants, cakes, salads and the butter chicken.
Having been there for almost a month, I also had a bitter experience with the seasonal tastes staff (Gaurav) where they rudely pointed out the bill payment after a Sunday lunch. I did pay the bill but the applicable discounts were not applied so they had to do a void sale and I had to re-pay. I spent almost 15 minutes on the busy floor with everyone around having their lunch. It was a bit embarrassing. Also, there seems to be some issue with payments in general as some modes of payment are not applicable for some items/services. eg: Card number being explicitly recorded in heavenly spa. Thai green curry only accepts UPI payment (the staff always made excuses about card payment upon ordering certain items). Please sort out internal payment channels and give a unified, hassle free payments experience to guests.
The food quality can greatly improve and the consistency of cleaning staff needs to improve as well, items (robe, towel) were missing on some odd days, but bholanath was good. Italian and Chinese cuisines need a lot of improvement. The pizza I had was one of the worst culinary experiences in the last 8 months for me. The bacon in the breakfast everyday was chewy and very thin. Kangan a la carte menu quality does not match the price point.
Generally I feel that the seasonal tastes' staff are under some kind of pressure and are always tense and worried. I recall my stay in Taj Bangalore and the staff there were always in a happy mood, cheerful and greeted with a smile and knew my name etc. But, something seems to be off with the staff there.
Also, I suggest giving more discounts, some complimentary stuff here and there for long staying guests. It increases customer delight. But I feel you're sorting out your finances right now and will improve in future. For now I had a good experience but please aim for giving a...
