Kholani's Kitchen — Restaurant in Hyderabad

I've been visiting Kholani’s Kitchen since around 2010, both personally and with my family. Every time we come, our bill is usually around ₹5,000 or more. We've been consistent, loyal customers for years, and the food has generally been decent—flavorful and satisfying. But lately, the overall experience has been going downhill.

During my last visit, the service was particularly disappointing. Food took longer than expected to arrive, even though the restaurant wasn't too busy. But what truly ruined the experience was the behavior of one of the waiters. After serving, he asked for a tip—which is fine—but I politely declined. He returned later and asked again, this time with a noticeably rude tone. When I refused once more, he gave a snide response that made me feel like I was at fault.

Let me be clear: I usually do tip, especially when the service is good. But this time, the behavior was so off-putting that I chose not to. His entitled attitude, followed by the rude reaction, was simply unacceptable. I left feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. It made me question whether I had done something wrong—when I really hadn't.

On a positive note, there’s one elderly waiter who's been around for years. He’s always been respectful and professional. People like him kept us coming back all these years.

But honestly, after this experience, I’m not sure I’ll return. It’s sad to say, but this might have been my last visit...

Kholanis Restaurant is a name that every member of our family would swear by for their impeccable food over all these years! I remember, I was in 3rd grade or so when I first visited this place and have been visiting since then! And everytime, I only left this place having both my Heart and tummy satisfied! There'd be hardly anything left on the menu that I wouldn't have tried, You bet! But our most consistent Order here comprises of Soup(of all the places I've had soups, the one very close to perfection is the one I had at Kholanis be it their Hot n sour or Manchow soup), Majestic and Pepper Chicken in Chinese Starter, Tandoori Chicken and Zafrani Kebab in tandoor, Apollo Fish(You better not miss this, truly a Gem), KKK Chicken in Gravy and Fried Rice! Also, You should definitely try their Haleem, the best Off Season haleem you get is here at Kholanis, that's for sure! And their American Chopsuey is also brilliant! The service is great and staff is very friendly and hospitable! They don't take up much time in the kitchen even when it's housefull, so that's definitely a big plus about this place! Parking: Not available, had to park 500 mts away. Food service: hopeless, pathetic Food quality n taste: 1/5 Time: very very slow service, did not cover guests fully, waited toooo long to get served. Food quality was average. Food variety: dishes were below average in taste.

Welcome drink was not provided to all, even aftermultiple reminders Starters were not repeated even after multiple reminders by groom Mutton biryani had 1 or no pieces, only rice. Some guests had to leave after waiting for dessert for too long.

Overall: Disaster, worst valima memory. Recommendation: Not suitable for parties. Food lovers: Nothing new to taste.
