Masala Republic — Restaurant in Hyderabad

My recent visit to Masala Republic – Banjara Hills was nothing short of a disappointment.

From the moment we stepped in, it was evident that the staff had no interest in serving or welcoming guests. They were inattentive, disinterested, and lacked the basic courtesy you'd expect from a place claiming to offer a premium dining experience.

The food was stale and substandard. We tried a few items, but the quality was way below expectations. Even worse, most of the items listed on the menu were out of stock — something you'd never expect from an established brand like Masala Republic. It felt like the team was just waiting to close for the day rather than actually serve customers.

The management needs to take serious action — either retrain or replace the current team at this branch. Compared to other Masala Republic outlets, the Banjara Hills branch falls embarrassingly short in both food and service.

Had a fantastic dining experience at Masala Republic, Banjara Hills. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was impressively fast, and the restaurant was spotless and well-maintained.

We started with the Tomato Rasam and Lemon Coriander Corn Soup—both were flavorful, but the Tomato Rasam truly stood out. The Pepper Onion Malai Paneer Tikka and Honey Chilli Potato were on the sweeter side, as expected, but still enjoyable. The Veg Dimsum arrived piping hot and was delicious. However, the star of the meal was Birbal Ki Khichdi—pure comfort food that absolutely hit the spot! Ending with the Motichoor Cheesecake was the perfect sweet finale.

There was no AC running upstairs. The service is very shabby, the tables were dirty, chairs were stained, floor was not swept. We had to ask the housekeeping to clean after we sat. There was no chimney for the ventilation, they fried pooris and the full smell was across the restaurant. One of the servers had very bad body odour, when he came to take our order it was very tough to ignore the smell.
