The Pit Smokers — Restaurant in Hyderabad

Some rich kid who has no business making food has gotten his parents to fund his little passion project.

Okay fine, I admit I was a bit heated when I first wrote this review having spent well over 900 rupees for 2 burgers that I couldn't find the strength to finish despite being pretty hungry. (Mind you I could eat 4 similar sized burgers on a good day).

So let's offer some constructive criticism.

This is a cloud kitchen. Which means it's only take away or rather it exists only on 3rd party delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy. There's no special price for showing up and getting your meal from the location itself.

The burger was just a bunch of wrong choices and lacked synergy. The bun was milk bread I believe, or some story of sweet bread, which is just wrong and to add insult to injury, it doesn't even compliment the flavour. The sauce was sweet too and the onions were fried and caramelized which on any other day I would appreciated but this made the entire thing too sweet.

The meat which could've honestly saved this cacophony of errors was cold, congealed, dry and spongy on the outside yet wet on the inside. I don't mean, juicy but wet. There was nothing pulled about this meat and it did not taste at all of any smokey flavour. In fact it barely smelt like woodsmoke.

In conclusion I applaud the effort but not the execution, I hope this place gets someone who knows what they're actually doing cause for the price that they are taking they can surely afford it.

Went there with my friend, it is a cloud kitchen but there are like 2 tables in the parking area for regular customers. We called the place beforehand and enquired about dining, you should do that too. So we ended up ordering chicken cheesy blast and chicken smash burger, and the taste was soo good, for the chicken cheesy blast burger, there were two different types of cheese in it and as soon as I had my first bite, I knew that it was among the best burgers I ever had in Hyderabad, and for the price, it's really worth it. And for the chicken smash burger, it basically had 2 smashed chicken patties complimented with a bunch of sauces, the taste was really good nevertheless. We happened to speak to the owner as well, he was a very humble person and we ended up chatting for like 10 mins, and he also told us about how he's gonna renovate the place and turn it into a café. I have only tried the beef brisket burger from this place which really is the best one I have had in Hyderabad. But the principal problem is that this burger is unavailable 95% of the time. 2 weeks back I ordered this brisket burger two times only for the order to get cancelled and refunded. I still tried to get around this by trying to call and place an order over the phone directly. I called twice for 3 days and got no response. After which I tried to contact them on WhatsApp only to be baited for 3 more days with either brisket not being available that day or the restaurant being closed. From the 4th day I stopped receiving a response all together on WhatsApp. This is simply un-acceptable level of non-chalance regarding service from a business.
