The regional Telangana cuisine has made a great impact on people’s taste buds that everyone is enjoying the flavors and spices of Telangana. The Spice Kitchen a restaurant in Nalagandla started almost an year back has started making a noise with there food as they has some amazing and delicious food spread available on their menu. From start to end the food journey at this place is a roller coaster ride you will always be surprise with the taste and texture of each dish being served on the table.
So, let’s talk about the food:
The starters were quite good enough and every dish made its presence with flavors and spices.
Tandoori prawns: The dish was star for the night as it has got all the flavors perfectly bind on the prawn and it was cooked to the perfect where the charred texture on the prawns gives nice taste of the charcoal flavor.
Karimnagar fried wings: One of the best sellers on the menu how can one miss it after hearing about it popularity. The succulent wing covered in flavored batter fried to crisp texture on outside and perfect inside was really a good option as the wings were perfectly spiced up but the dry ingredient like fried green chillis and curry leaves were making taste more delicious.
Shanghai rolls: A tiny bite size rolls which was stuffed with spiced mixed veggies mashed form and that after bite taste was exquisite. The thickness of the roll was good as it was lite crisp on the outside and soft inside.
Pepper chicken: The pepper chicken has the same batter like Karimnagar fried wings it just that it got black pepper-con texture added to the after end taste.
Main Course:
Malai kofta: This dish is something I have been eating it for a long time and every place has it own essence in it. But this place has made it so good that I have eaten one entire big malai kofta piece which has soft, creamy, and sweet texture in it. And that creamy got spice kick to balance the taste of sweet and savory.
Telangana chicken curry: A well elevated spicy and tangy flavor gravy this dish was good though the flavors of the gravy was apt but I felt chicken was little as the entire flavor came to the broth.
Golichina mamsam semi gravy: My personal favorite dish for the day as the dish was so good and tasty all the flavors were perfect and that black pepper spice was so good it was perfectly balanced and the meat was succulent and juicy.
Kheema biryani: I am in love with this biryani. Words cannot describe my feeling for this dish as it was quite amazing. The spice level of the biryani was perfect for my palate as I like spicy biryani with minimal masala. And this biryani was exactly same.
Special chicken biryani: This special biryani was really good in terms of taste and flavor more over the chicken chunks were perfectly cooked and it was succulent enough for the biryani.

Read moreOpening their dine in very recently, The Spice Kitchen here in Nallagandla is a perfect option for anyone who loves regional Telangana cuisine. Keeping the ambience minimal, their dining section accomodates about 60-80 diners easily with some a private dining area available as well. Coming to the food, my personal favourites from their menu included
1.) Karimnagar Fried Wings - Crispy fried chicken wings with rice flour for that extra crunch, which is also tossed in a spicy mix of ginger garlic and green chilies. Definitely not to be missed!
2.) Shanghai Rolls - Made sort of like a tiny spring roll, these bite sized rolls are deep fried to golden perfection with a really spicy mix of veggies stuffed in.
3.) Telangana Chicken Curry - A decadent main course option with a whole spice laden curry and succulent chicken.
4.) Golichina Mamsam Gravy - One another must try item, the portion as well as the cost justifies this completely. Juicy mutton chunks cooked in a hand ground masala packing that Telangana heat!
5.) Keema Biryani - A substantial amount of keema, this one comes laden with ghee and whole spices. Though might get a bit out of hand if you can't tolerate...
Read moreI recently ordered chicken fried piece biryani from a restaurant via Swiggy, and it was the worst biryani I’ve ever tasted:
1.Poor Quality Rice: The rice was dry and lacked the flavor and texture that one expects from a decent biryani.
2.Late Delivery: The order arrived late. When I called Swiggy to inquire, they assured me that the delay was because the biryani was being prepared fresh. Naturally, I expected hot, steaming biryani upon arrival. Instead, it was cold and unappetizing.
3.Questionable Freshness: Based on the taste and temperature, it felt like “freshly prepared” meant yesterday’s leftover biryani. This was extremely disappointing and not what I paid for.
4.Lack of Masala: The fried chicken pieces were bland and devoid of masala.
5.Misleading Chicken Pieces: Any decent biryani restaurant typically provides freely five spiced chicken pieces. This restaurant, however, gave a few more those plain, tasteless pieces and called it fried chicken piece biryani, which had no masala.
I should have ordered from Pista House, known for its minimum guaranteed...
