Notch Indore — Restaurant in Indore City

We visited Notch after thoroughly checking all available online discounts on Swiggy and other platforms. While speaking to someone from the cafe beforehand, we were clearly told that although there wouldn’t be live music since it was a Tuesday, there would be a DJ night.

Based on that, we went ahead and booked a seat in the rooftop area. However, when we reached, our food was served. Now, politely we asked if they could play some Bollywood music. To our surprise, the entire staff flatly refused, saying, “It’s against our policy.”

We respected that and simply requested to speak with the manager. That’s when things took a turn for the worse. The manager told us, in the most arrogant tone, * We opened this cafe specifically so that Bollywood music is not played from Monday to Friday it’s in our terms and conditions. We only care about weekends, not weekdays. *

Excuse me? So customers visiting from Monday to Friday are not your priority? That’s completely unacceptable.

Even after all this, we waited patiently till 10:30 PM, but the DJ never showed up. Still, we let it go. But the final blow came during billing—when we were told that none of the online discounts (like Swiggy, etc.) would be applicable. We reminded them that we had clearly asked and confirmed all this before booking, but the entire staff just refused to acknowledge it.

When we tried to speak with the manager again, he didn’t even care to listen—just kept giving us dismissive facial expressions. That level of arrogance was shocking. At the very least, you should listen to your customers and stick to what you promised at the time of booking.

The Notch is a true gem, offering an unforgettable experience that excels in three key areas: ambiance, food, and music. The moment you step in, you're enveloped in a fantastic atmosphere. The decor is stylish and the lighting is perfect, creating a sophisticated yet relaxed vibe that's perfect for a night out. The food is equally impressive; every dish I tried was a delight, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. It's clear the chefs take great pride in their work. Adding to the overall allure is the music—the live DJ sets the perfect mood, keeping the energy high without being overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where you can comfortably enjoy a conversation while still feeling the beat. However, there is one minor drawback: the space on the top deck. While it offers a great view and is a fantastic spot, it gets incredibly crowded, especially on weekends. It can be a bit of a tight squeeze and makes moving around difficult. Despite this, The Notch remains a top-tier destination in Indore. It's a place I'd highly recommend for its amazing food, fantastic music, and top-notch ambiance. This restaurant is an ambitious attempt to cater to both the neo-modern crowd and Gen Z. Spanning two floors, the first floor offers seated dining with live romantic music, while the second floor features a disco floor. However, the overlapping sounds of the live music and hip-hop from the second floor created a dissonant experience, clashing with the otherwise low-lit and intimate atmosphere.

Another drawback was the limited washroom space, which detracted from the overall experience.

That said, the service was commendable. The staff, especially Aashiq, were attentive and accommodating, even seating us despite our late arrival. Every dish we tried was delightful, with the Momos and kaju masala standing out as our favorites. We also enjoyed the paneer tikka masala, sev tamatar, and hakka noodles, all of which were well-prepared and flavorful.

The cocktail Around the World was beautifully presented, but sweet profile was contrasting with smokiness of drink.
