I recently visited this Rajasthani themed restaurant, its a chain from Udaipur, that offers an unlimited thali experience. While they also have an ala carte menu, which is a plus for those not interested in the thali, the overall experience was underwhelming.
The food was quite basic and bland. Some dishes were average and others simply didnt taste good something were good but overall thali was okayish. Place needs significant improvement in the taste of the food. Specially their thali , ordering from menu is better , but people visit them for thali so that is what should be their focus .
Additionally, the restaurant needs to work on its management and service. They dont even know what offer they are running and what is being served we had to show them their own offers on their website and instagram then they agreed.
Overall, I would rate this restaurant as a one time visit at best. Not...
Read moreI visited Rajwadi Restaurant for dinner and left extremely disappointed. I arrived around 7:15 pm to find the place completely empty which already gave a bad first impression. Still, the high Google ratings made me hopeful. That hope vanished quickly.
The food was bland and lacked variety. Only chapati was served and no puri. Cleanliness was poor. The dhokla tasted awful, the paneer was so tangy I could not finish even a small bowl, and the gatte ki sabzi was swimming in oil. The only decent dish was the corn mutter palak. Even the dal had no flavor.
What shocked me most was the hygiene. While there were no other customers, I had an uninvited guest at my table, a cockroach. That was enough for me to leave my plate unfinished which has never happened to me at an unlimited thali restaurant.
Honestly, I am surprised by the high ratings. For me, it was a complete waste of...
Read morePositives: The five stars are only for the food. The food is nice, the thali is reasonably cheap, but ala carte not so much. The staff is really polite and the service was good. Live rajasthani music was really pleasant to hear while dining.
Negatives: The safa they make you wear are really, really dirty inside. I appreciate the respect given to the "atithi" but at least wash them periodically. The floor was super dirty. Servers and people dropped food and crushed it with their footwear. It was not a pleasant sight. Table mats and tables were both not cleaned properly. The glass tumblers on the table had food sticking to them. The waiter serving roti/paratha served me the roti with his bare hands! Why would anyone touch my food with their bare hands.
In short, it's a good place to dine if you don't really care about cleanliness...
