Nothing Before Coffee has become a beloved brand in Jaipur, known for its quality ingredients, convenient locations, and an expanding presence beyond the city. I remember its humble beginnings with the first outlet on Tonk Road, which still retains a bit of that rough-around-the-edges charm. Unfortunately, my recent experience at this outlet left me with mixed feelings.

I took my mom and brother for a quick coffee there, choosing to order from the car. We had a cafe latte, Red Bull iced tea, and an Americano. While I usually enjoy their drinks, this visit took an unpleasant turn. As my mom took her first sip of the latte, she unexpectedly encountered a fly in her mouth, which she accidentally bit into. We understand that maintaining food hygiene can be challenging, especially with outdoor service, but this experience left a sour note.

Trying to address the issue, we signaled to the staff inside, and after some effort, a server came out. We handed over the coffee, showing him the fly. He seemed unsure of how to handle the situation, took the coffee back inside, and that was it. Understandably, we didn’t feel comfortable staying and decided to leave immediately.

While I recognize that this was a one-time experience and not necessarily reflective of the entire chain, I do think it highlights an area for improvement—specifically, in staff training and attentiveness. Ensuring consistency in quality and hygiene, especially with an expanding brand, is essential for maintaining customer trust.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the newly opened NBC Café, and I must say-

The interior is tastefully designed with minimalist décor, ample natural light, and comfortable seating options

Now, onto the star of the show: the menu. NBC Café has gone beyond the standard coffee shop fare. Their signature NBC Cold Brew is smooth, strong, and surprisingly refreshing. I also tried the caramel sea salt latte, which was perfectly balanced—not too sweet, just the right hit of flavor. For bites, the avocado toast and chocolate croissant stood out—fresh, flaky, and delicious.

The staff is courteous, well-trained, and eager to recommend menu favorites. Service was prompt even during peak hours, which speaks volumes for a new establishment.

After watching an evening show at INOX Mansarovar, we enjoyed over a cup of Cappuccino at Nothing Before Coffee. It is a small but occupied cafe situated at Shipra Path, Opposite Landscape Park, Mansarovar, Jaipur. If they had more space it would have been an awesome experience. Yet taste of coffee was satisfying. One thumb rule that they are not following, they serve coffee in disposable paper cups. I love to cherish coffee in two ways, first by eyes second by taste.
