Kashmir is heaven on Earth and Dana Pani is heaven for foodies like me.
On the Pahalgam to Baitaab Valley Road in the main market of Pahalgam Town you can spot this food marvel. Now why is it a heaven for foodies kindly read forth.
Ambience:
It has great ambience and it will be a delight to have food around this place. Good ambience along with sanitation and dedicated staff is a sure to win your heart.
Food:
I had ordered Kesar Kaiwa as my first option since, a drink is a litmus paper test for a place. This amazing drink will refreshen your mind and soul, literally. The drink is made of exotic herbs and dry fruit like Kesar (obvious since the name suggests), walnuts, cinnamon and honey. This was a remarkable start for the rest of the order.
Coming to the rest of the food. We had ordered Kashmiri Butter Paneer, Dum Aloo, Rajma and Zeera rice.
First of all the price offered is very minimal for the variety offered. Kashmiri Butter Paneer was true to its name with such great blend of sweet sour flavors and the amount for butter is sure to put you off your diet. The price for this dish was Rs. 210.
When in Kashmir it becomes but obvious to order Dum Aloo which costed for Rs.150 and it was amazing. It is said that you can travel the world but the happiness that comes with Rajma is inevitable and undeniable and till you order Rajma the food is not complete. So we ordered Rajma which costed Rs. 200. With Rajma the need for rice arises and so Zeera Rice which was for Rs. 120 was tagged along. And as for the breads craving we ordered Tandoori Roti which was priced at Rs. 15 per piece.
Dessert:
And finally no food is complete without a dessert. So in the ice cold weather nothing satisfies than Gulab Jamun (personal favorite). It is a bliss to have hot Gulab Jamun with the view of snow around. It costed for Rs. 60 for two pieces.
So to sum up:-
PROS:
Great ambience Cleanliness Good staff Amazing food Affordable price
CONS:
Only serves Vegetarian food. So it will disappoint Non- Vegetarians.
In my opinion it is amazing place to have great vegetarian food. A must...

Read moreThe food here is commendable in terms of taste and portion size. The ambiance is decent, but the seating can feel cramped for a group of six.
However, I was quite disappointed with the service. The staff lacked courtesy, which affected our overall dining experience. For instance, when I asked for details about the thalis, the attendant simply opened the menu and told us to read it ourselves rather than explaining it. While he may have been attending to other customers, this could have been handled more gracefully.
Another incident further dampened our experience. When I requested a salad reorder, the waiter asked what I specifically wanted. I mentioned onion slices, which he promptly brought. However, when my wife then requested sliced tomatoes and carrots, the waiter responded rudely, saying, “You should have mentioned that earlier.” This abrupt behavior was disappointing, and my wife never received the salad she requested. At that point, we decided to leave as the experience no longer met our expectations.
For vegetarians seeking good food, this place could be an option, but be prepared for less-than-hospitable service. Unfortunately, the staff’s attitude falls short of the high hospitality standards we’ve come to...
