Northwind Cafe, Gulmarg — Restaurant in Jammu and Kashmir

Probably the worst food we ever had. It ruined our holidays and all good memories of Kashmir as it ended with such bad experience. In the afternoon, as we were hungry so thought to taste some pizzas after Gandola ride. So, we checked in Google and found this shop. We ordered for pizzas (Cafe special and Grill chicken) and after long wait it was on the table. Taste wise it was not bad. However, after it was finished the tragedy started. My daughter started vomitting outside the shop. Whatever she are was out. We thought it may be her illness. We came back to hotel. And then one by one, each of us started vomitting relentlessly. Then it ended to dissentry. Whole evening and night it was a nightmare as all six of us including the kids are down to bed. The caretaker later warned us do not take foods from these shops at Gulmarg parking , as they don't serve fresh ingredients.

It was our lifetime experience to have such worst quality of food in such a beautiful place. For their crime, we could not even sightseeing the Gulmarg and came back to Home next day. So, whenever the Gulmarg comes in mind, we just think about the nightmare not the blissful nature Regret going...

We ordered 3 coffee cups, which looks to be 110 per cup, we expected a pretty good taste since the price was hefty compared to the ambience and the nearest and 4 star Somovar Cafe sells the different varieties of coffee at 100 only.

Anyways, the coffee for 110 rupees tasted all water, when asked whether this is a machine made or hard-made, to which he said it is hand made, and then I told him this coffee is not at all worthy for its price, then he said actually coffee is not our specialty, liked the honesty, but I told him you gotta maintain standard if you are keeping it in your menu for this price, and if it is a hand made, you should be able to even better than machine.

At last, I don't think it affected him that much, because he took the money upfront to the penny rather than apologizing and trying to make it up to us.

Just wanted to put it out there, that if you are craving for coffee you can either go to Somovar cafe where you get a lot of varieties and there is other one called as 'Brew Something', which is also renowned for serving...

I was in Kashmir a few months back when I came across this cafe and it’s one of the most astonishing cafe that I have ever been to This cafe is literally the best place to eat after a power packed day of snowboarding and hiking or skii well the food is really good they literally have almost everything that a cafe has to offer in a place where it’s freezing cold well this changed the perception about cafés if you are an person who loves adventure but still can’t function with a proper coffee no doubt this is perfect place to go at i I’ll be back again...
