Gulmarg Ski Centre Adventures — Attraction in Jammu and Kashmir

We had Kashmir winter trip in mind from very long time and we finally nailed it . Special thanks to Miss Shabu who coordinated the entire trip from Make a wish tours and travels (also known as Gulmarg Ski Centre Adventures) We are trek enthusiasts and we always wanted a Kashmir trip which was combination of multiple mini treks along with standard tourism itinerary ( generally combination of major tourist spots in Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar mentioned all across internet)

The most challenging part of the planning was that not many tourist agencies could arrange for treks especially in winters but Kudos to miss Shabu who coordinated the unconventional tour and activities ( in offbeat Kashmir places mentioned below) Out of our 9 days Kashmir trip, I would like specially call out below 5 days which were the best 5 days of the trip.

Day 1: Hiking in and around Gulmarg: Mr. Farooq( owner of Gulmarg Ski Centre Adventurers ) himself came with us and guided us throughout the hike. He is super friendly and loved his presence throughout.

Day 2: Alpathri Nag frozen lake Trek: This is a trek from phase 2 Gondala ride. Our guide-Shahzad was super helpful throughout this challenging snow trek. The snow was unpredictable and we couldn’t anticipate the depth of the snow and the terrain underneath the snow. Shahzad using his “Pahadi boy” knowledge and sense guided us through the snow, helped us come out of the snow when we were struck in it and motivated us when we were about to give up. Without guide Shahzad, it was impossible for us to complete the trek. The destination was totally worth the difficult trek .

Day 4: Surmarg Trek: This is a trek near to Pahalgam not many people know about. Again , Miss Shabu arranged this beautiful trek for us. Terrain was moderate . We got an amazing local guide . The journey was breathtaking and the destination was mesmerising.

Day 6: Day in Sonmarg : This was not an actual trek but we did a small hike in snow ourselves and were struck by the sere beauty of this place.

Day 8: This day was like putting a cherry on top of a perfectly baked cake. Miss Shabu’s brother : Mr. Umar surprised us by driving us to some of the beautiful offbeat places in and around Tangmarg (near to Gulmarg) in their vehicle.

Not to mention, all other remaining days were equally well planned and executed. All the hotels were good , well maintained and had decent cuisine. Thanks to Make a Wish tours and Travels for your support and dedication throughout this trip and giving us beautiful...

The breakfast and dinner included in our package were absolutely delicious, featuring a variety of dishes to suit different tastes. The food was fresh, hot, and perfectly suited for the cold climate. Whether it was traditional Kashmiri cuisine or other options, every meal was a delight!

Service & Management

The manager of Ski Centre Adventure was extremely polite, professional, and ensured that everything was arranged to perfection. From hotel stays to transport, he made sure we were comfortable at every step. His warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome.

Transport & Driver

One of the best parts of our trip was the well-maintained vehicle provided for our entire journey. The driver was not only experienced but also very kind and patient. He guided us through the best routes, shared interesting local insights, and ensured a safe and smooth ride throughout our trip.

Shikara Ride at Dal Lake

Our experience in Kashmir wouldn’t have been complete without the Shikara ride at Dal Lake. Ski Centre Adventure arranged everything perfectly, allowing us to relax and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the lake. The serene atmosphere and stunning views made it one of the most memorable parts of our journey.

So to start with, I did a 5 nights 6 days tour for my extended family of 16 members. The whole responsibility of organizing the tour was on me, and I was really worried and stressed on how the trip will be considering all the ladies and kids in the group. But I must tell you, the whole stress was taken over from my shoulders by Gulmarg Ski Centre Adventures company(also known as make a wish tours and travels) and they organized everything really really well. Especially Shabbu mam and Farooq Sir from Gulmarg Ski Centre Adventure was always there for us. Every problem we faced, be it arranging electrical blankets in sub zero temperature in Gulmarg, or organizing lunch which was not in the package, they were always there for us without any complaints. With such an amazing service, they have ensured that no matter how many times I visit Kashmir/Ladakh, I should not even think of any other tour organizer.

I was really worried as we travelled with my 4 month old infant. But Shabbu mam and Farooq sir always ensured that all the arrangements they did were according to the infant, and they treated us like a family and also offered us to take care of my daughter so we can go and enjoy Gandola, because we were worried if the second phase will be fine for an infant or not.

I would not mention the prices here because the rates differ for every season and based on the number of people as well. But I spoke to easily 8-9 different organizers before finalizing on them, and they offered me the best deal.. Thank you Farooq sir and Shabbu mam for the amazing hospitality.
