So when we were in Srinagar❤️, we gave this place a shot. We are pure vegetarians and this was supposedly THE best place to have great vegetarian food as informed by the local people as well as the reviews in here.
Well, according to me, this is definitely not the best place or THE place to survive the days you are enjoying in Srinagar. You can give it a shot though. Some people might like it and would be ready to eat here all the days during their stay and some of them won't. Personally, I didn't like it.
The food here is very decent👌🏻. Well, the food actually tastes good but is really really oily. I didn't feel like eating here again. There wasn't a little bit of craving after I left the place. It's just alright for one try, I guess.
Besides, it gets really crowded here. Fortunately, we had dinner here at around 7:30 PM and the crowd was just beginning to come in. If you're here at the 'peak' time, you cannot expect to sit where you'd like to and enjoy a meal with your family or friends. You have to sit where ever there's vacancy, finish your meal and off you go!
We'd ordered rajma rice (tasty, yum but really oily!), roti and subzi (don't exactly remember which one but again oily). Overall, it's a decent place. Worth a shot.
P.S. - Waiting for the order, I was a bit jobless so I clicked all the pages of the menu. Hope this helps you. :P I'm tagging them with my review. Also, there are really good dhaba/hotels exactly opposite to the Dal Lake. I don't exactly remember their names but they were Punjabi Dhaba and Dilli Da Dhaba I guess. Tasty food, amazing pani puri and lip-smacking gulab jamoons there!

The ambience is simple but the restaurant can get a bit crowded at peak hours. Better to dine here instead of the highly popular Krishna Vaishno Bhojnalaya as it can be very difficult to get a seat over there."
Food: I had their Kashmiri Pulao and it was a bit sweet but the quantity was great. It isn't for those looking for spicy foods. My friend had the Punjabi Thali which was also pretty good.
Service: A bit chaotic but they are friendly and polite. However, the dishes can take quite some time to arrive at the table. Service time can be improved for sure. They tend to forget our requests as well at peak hours.
Ambience: Simple and minimalistic. Can get crowded at times. Yet, it is better to dine here than Krishna Vaishno Bhojnalaya which is located just beside this as it can be very difficult to get a table there and moreover, the food is pretty much similar.
Overall, a good restaurant in Srinagar for those seeking...

Prepare yourselves for a wild ride through the abyss of disappointment at Vishal Dhaba/Krishna vaishav Bhojanalaya. The food was bland, the customer service non-existent, and the manager a true master of chaos. We were crammed into a tiny space, while others impatiently queued at our table. It was a terrible lunch experience that I'll never forget, and one that should serve as a cautionary tale.
There are two possibilities here: either this restaurant was once excellent but has let their newfound popularity go to their heads, resulting in incredibly rude behavior, or they were never really good to begin with. However, their popularity might stem from the fact that their prices are dirt cheap, and in this particular area, it's hard to find a pure vegetarian restaurant.
Proceed with caution!
Oh, and one more thing—bring your own snacks. You'll...
