After visiting Kashmir for a winter trip last 2 nights were in Srinagar and booked this place in last moment,only reason to book this hotel was the owner Mr Firdaus,come to know about him through various people.Initially I was little doubtful about the property but give it a try and in the end it was correct decision.

Location:The property is situated near Dal gate , hardly 5-7 min walk,situated in a by lane, surrounding of the property may not be ideal for few but who is going for view.

Property: The hotel is in same campus with Mr Firdaus house,small property with 6-7 rooms so at any time expect customize treatment.Food is freshly made after getting order,other than guest lobby,room and dinning room nothing much inside property.

Room: Rooms are basic but ok, comfortable bed and clean bathroom,hot water available 24 hr, provide heater and electric blanket.We were there in February still room was cosy enough for a sound and comfortable sleep. *But the property don't have central heating so if planning for winter book as per your comfort.

Food:After intensive 9 day tour we were tired of hotel/restaurant food and was in search of some home made food and finally got here, through out our stay we had dinner and breakfast here,had freshly made veggies,daal and roti for dinner,paratha and egg toast in breakfast,10 out of 10, price of food may looks expensive for some people.

Experience:It was the experience for which we stayed here and the owner Mr Firdaus is a true gem,as we were the only guest so spend good time with Mr Firdaus discussing various topic about kashmir,he have excellent knowledge about Kashmir ans it's culture.

Next day as he was free so went with us for Srinagar tour including downtown,which area most of tourist skip.Enjoyed each and every minute spend with him during the tour.He is such a humble and down to earth person which is difficult to find now a days. Mr Firdaus is a lawyer by profession but he is doing his passion,true Kashmir hospitality,I don't have much words to describe.

If planning Srinagar/Kashmir and you are traveller not a tourist then do contact Mr Firdaus once, totally...

Mr. Firdous, The owner of this place is hands down one of the best hosts. Very warm, always welcoming and always happy to help :) Also, Mir the cook here- I’ll be honest... I stayed for over 11 days in Kashmir valley and I had the best food whilst staying here. The rooms are very spacious and always warm.

This place is located really well and you could easily save thousands of bucks on that taxi money. Walking towards Dal Lake,the Busstand or other major attractions is under 5 -10 mins.

I am a solo backpacker and was walking around the streets of Srinagar trying to cover as many places as possible. Even from far away, one would realise that I’m not a local and definitely a traveller( was wearing shorts in winter, backpack, South Indian) With a lot of kindness, Mr. Firdous who was heading towards the same destination offered to drop me off there and as we got talking. We ended up exploring other tourist and offbeat places. He showed around most parts of Srinagar and went about sharing his knowledge and memories he had at Srinagar with the brightest smile. I could see the passion and love he had in helping out others.

I was staying at some other expensive place earlier and then moved to Gulmarg for 7 days. Once I was back to Srinagar - I chose to stay at Blooming Dale and had wonderful time here.

Most memorable stay of my life. Had gone with a big family with toddlers and a wheel chair bound person,but Mr Firdous made it super comfortable. Food by Mir is to die for, both veg and nonveg.

Rooms are superspacious,clean,with bed-heaters and prompt service for everything. I needed a particular medicine n they visited 4 medical stores to find it. My bag's chain broke n they fixed it fr me. They help shop at the right places so one doesn't get fooled. The service is both customized and very personal. The ambience is so pleasant, my kids enjoyed a lot in the garden area. Their kahwa is so rich n makes me miss it every morning. Also its just 5 mins away from Dal lake, so we went fr evening strolls n it was beautiful..

Their travel partner ( vehicle n driver Ashraf) was so easy on the roads n ensured our road journey was hasslefree n keeping in mind our needs fr repeated breaks..

We traveled from 9th to 15th aug and despite it being near independence day, we did not face any inconvenience in terms of travel. I want to emphasize our whole trip was supersafe n the valley deserves more tourism !

Bloomingdale is home away from home. Whether its family, senior citizens, kids or solo travellers, a trip to Kashmir is incomplete without staying at Bloomingdale and experiencing the real Kashmiri hospitality...
