The Red Olive — Restaurant in Kanpur

This is the fine dine restaurant of Regenta Hotel at Mall road. The ambience of this place is good as I prefer bright lights for family dinner. We went here on weekend and it was a very busy day but if you visit here on weekdays its not that busy. Their food is good and they have open kitchen concept and serve alcohol too. We ordered few dishes here 🍡Chilli Chicken: Ordered it for starter, it was good in taste. Chicken was tender and juicy. The presentation stole my heart but the quantity served was little less. 🍡Angara Chicken Tikka: Another starter that was spicy and again stole my heart with the presentation. 🍡Handi Chicken: An Average dish. It was not spicy. I didn’t like it much. 🍡Butter Chicken: It was a real show stopper, everyone enjoyed it. The correct amount of spices to activate your food buds. Loved it.

Rotis and naan were really good. Freshly prepared. We ordered 2 mocktails. Apple and cinnamon mocktail was good.

Our overall experience was good. Through we found that service was little slow but it I guess it was a busy day.!

We ordered veg dimsum and they served non-veg dimsum mixed with veg. We are vegetarian and my wife took a bite of non-veg dimsum. When we complain about the they quickly cleared the table and called the chef and started blaming the chef for the same. Also it was not that whole veg dimsum is mistakenly replaced by non-veg, but in the same plate both veg and non veg dimsum was served. This shows that prepare both in the same utensils. They are playing with customer belief. We could not even eat the food in some other restaurant also after that incident. I will definitely complaint about in consumer forum and...

The food has always been great. Food always brings smile to our faces. I have no qualms about food. The only place where you can get a good lasagna. One who has has tried Lasagna from each and every restaurant in Kanpur, the Red olive serves it best. The only issue is with live music. Today I came with a happy mood since it was my birthday but live music was terrible. People come to restaurant to enjoy but not to hear sad songs. Even the good songs were sung in a sad way.
