Located in the heart of Belagavi, Ajanta Cafe is a popular vegetarian restaurant known for its delicious South Indian cuisine. Here's what you can expect:
Food
The menu features a range of traditional dishes, including: Puri Bhaji: A must-try, with fluffy puris served alongside flavorful bhaji (kurma) Masala Dosa: A classic South Indian dish, crispy on the outside and savory on the inside Idli: Soft and fluffy, often served with sambar and chutney Vada: Crispy fried lentil doughnuts, sometimes served with a peculiar smell (according to some reviewers) Sangeetha: A unique mixture of sev, onion, grated coconut, and lemon
Ambiance
The cafe has a simple yet clean and soothing atmosphere, with a casual, kid-friendly vibe. However, some reviewers note that the seating arrangement can be poorly managed during peak hours.
Service
The staff is generally polite and friendly, with some reviewers praising their quick service. However, others have experienced slow service, with some needing to request basic amenities like water ¹.
Value
Prices are average, with most meals ranging from ₹200 to ₹400 per person. Some reviewers find the prices a bit high, but overall, the food quality justifies the cost ³ ⁴.

Established 58 years ago, the culinary journey of this wonderful place continues to entral Belgaumites.
The taste has not changed since last 6 decades and people from all walks of life visit this iconic eatery to grab thier favorite meal.
This place is always jam packed with patrons. Any1 who visits this place for breakfast definitely they will orders their signature dish Bread Misal which is unique to this eatery. I also ordered a plate of Idli Vada which is absolutely delicious.
The Misal was different from the Kohlapuri version where in the Rassa is thick and tasted great. The waiter suggested that I try misal with Poori next time to which I gladly agreed.
I hope this old joint continues its legacy of serving tasty and hygienic food and serve the future generations of Belgaumites...
Read moreHotel Ajanta ooooooo, this Hotel is one of my Favorite Hotels in Belgaum since my childhood, I have been visiting there for years now, as soon as this hotel name comes in mind, the first thing/dish appear in your eyes is the Puri Bhaji..... this dish is my oldest and favorite dish from this hotel. The only thing I may like to mention is the rates are too high now a days. However the taste of the food, especially the most popular dish The Puri Bhaji is at the top level as the same as it was year back. People can visit here with family members, friends etc. Parking for two wheeler is reasonably ok, but for car is difficult in areas of the city.
