Basil Cafe — Restaurant in Karnataka

Basil is overrated Restaurant serve mediocre food , for the price and to make it even worse it is not even close to authenticity in Maxican, Italian, or Continental food..

We ordered chicken noodle soup, jalapeño chicken, spicy chicken fajitas, Alfredo pasta with white sauce, beans burritos, continental special chicken, and mango milk shakes,

The food was utterly atrocious. The worse dining experience ever. From start to finish not good at all!!

I mean burritos supposed to be made out with soft tortillas which made out with white flour,, But here in basil serving in ready made kind of pita bread which was very very thick and crispy, Seriously it was bad.. tasted just like a cardboard,,

Alfredo penne pasta was night mare!! what a ridiculous way of serving pasta no taste no richness at all.

Continental dish was.. Trust me guys they don’t have a clue what they’re doing..rice was undercooked, chicken gravy and vegetables are just disaster…

Mango milk shake just the basic drink, it was absolutely bad.. some kind of funny flavored..

Jalapeño nachos wasn’t really shout about it, nachos count was exactly 8 pieces!!

Only one thing I liked about this place was “”Bislery” water it was chilled and original,

I had a high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews, but I was sorely disappointed.

The portion sizes were tiny, presentation of food is very poor….lack of flavor and lack of authenticity, Totally Overrated.

Now let’s talk about service… Whatever you order they just dump in to the table, They don’t give service at all, I am talking about proper silver services because of the price what they charge. Each and every dishes are expensive.

Location is beautiful from outside, Old mangaluru house turn in to the restaurant, Ambiance is average, Entrance of the restaurant looks elegant, Gardning, lightings looks very beautiful Wash area was tidy, neat and clean!!

Parking is only few spots!!

I would “Never “ tell anyone to eat in BASIL CAFE. Definitely not...

My recent visit to Basil Cafe was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining needs were met.

Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding! Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. The Dragon Chicken with noodles 🐲 was a savory delight, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Nasi Goran 🍚 was a delicious fusion of flavors that left me craving more.

I also tried the Chicken Burrito Wrap 🌯, which was packed with tender chicken and vibrant vegetables, making it a satisfying choice for any meal. The Fish & Chips 🐟🍟 were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a true testament to the chef's expertise in seafood preparation.

Lastly, the Jalapeno Chicken 🌶️ was a spicy sensation that added an extra kick to my dining experience. Each bite was a culinary adventure, leaving me eager to return and explore more of the menu.

Overall, I can't recommend Basil Cafe enough. Whether you're craving Asian-inspired dishes or classic favorites like fish and chips, this establishment delivers top-notch service and delectable cuisine. Quality : Very good quality and healthy food. Thoroughly enjoyed every bite of it. The beverage were also quite flavourful. Would recommend the ice lemon tea and the spearmint or pudina+lime+sabja seed drink.

Quantity: Quite moderate. Can serve 2 persons.

Ambience : Place feels like home. Very simple and humble looking place. Had wooden benches and tables. You do have a individual rooms for a private experience.

Cost : Quite pricey considering the quantity.

Jalapeno chicken nachos Has a tangy savoury taste. Felt like they could have added a couple more nachos. Rating 4.2/5

Mexican chicken Very flavourful. My taste buds did enjoy the combination of mild spice and tangy flavours. Quantity is moderate. Rating 4 /5

Barbecue chicken quesadilla Was okayish. The barbecue chicken in the quesadilla could have a bit flavour. Enjoyed consuming it along with the starters Mexican chicken making it quite fulfilling. You may skip this 🫡 also, the quesadilla is smaller in size. Rating 3/5

French fries Nominal quantity. It's just your regular french fries with a dash of salt and a hint of pepper. It was crispy to my liking. Rating 4/5

Chicken kastu We chose rice instead of smashed potatoes. The quality is suitable for a person or 2 at the max. The fried chicken was good. The whole food was bound by the sauce. Rating 4.5/5
