My Night at Social Ecity Bangalore - A Total Letdown So, I booked a table for eight at Social Ecity Bangalore through the District app for 9:00 PM, shelled out extra for the reservation fee, and was expecting a fun night out. Boy, was I wrong. This place was such a disappointment, and I’m still annoyed thinking about it. First off, we get there, and yeah, there’s parking, but it’s paid. Valet? Also paid. Fine, whatever, but it’s just the start of being nickel-and-dimed. The reservation showed up on their system, but guess what? No actual table was reserved for us. We stood around for like 5-8 minutes while they scrambled to set something up, and even then, they just shoved two tables together and gave us seven chairs. For eight people. Seriously? When we finally sat down, there was no water, no menus, nothing. It’s like they forgot we were even there. The service was painfully slow, and the staff seemed like they had no clue what they were doing. Asking for basic stuff like extra plates or clearing the table took forever. At one point, they tried to grab plates with food still on them, probably to clear us out faster. It was so awkward and unprofessional. The vibe? Nonexistent. Social is supposed to be this cool, trendy spot, but it felt like a random diner with zero charm. We spent around ₹5,500-6,000, and they couldn’t even cover a ₹50 parking fee? Come on, it’s not about the money—it’s about the principle. You’re charging me that much for a meal, and I’m still paying for parking? That’s just cheap. The food wasn’t even worth it. We ordered pizza, and the crust was burnt to a crisp. The lotus stem starter sounded good on paper, but it was soggy and so spicy it was hard to eat. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t anything to write home about either. Honestly, the whole night was a bust. For what we paid, I expected way better service, a proper table, and at least a decent vibe. Social Ecity Bangalore needs to step it up big time. I’m not rushing back...

Read moreThis place has a very beautiful atmosphere. We tried almost all veg starters and they were tasty. I can recommend all the starters. Our non veg friends didn't like any item though. They also complained about less curry options in the main course. Even for veg items there are very few options in the main course if you want traditional Indian. Veg Pizza , pastas were also limited. Paneer in tikka was hard it didn't look fresh. That's about food , limited options with average taste. Service - We were shown options to sit, food was served properly, our queries regarding food options were answered. Delivery time was good except for pizza... I don't know why in the peak lunch time with the pizza baking oven was not preheated. It took 45-50 min to get one pizza. They told it was not heated. But still service was good in weekday noon with 3-4 groups.
They levied 10% service charge, when we asked to reduce to 5% they told they can not club an offer (drinks buy 4 pint get 2 extra). It was not mentioned anywhere , they accepted they should have informed. Even zomato distict pay was refused initially for same reason. But when manager came he allowed to pay via Swiggy or zomato. We ultimately paid entire amount with 10% service charge.
We can discount the confusions as they are newly operational. Will give it a try on a busy weekend again as I love social. I hope they see this and improve on...
