Went out on mum dads special anniversary night. Although a decent venue and ambience inside the Ottera hotel; But the food experience was Utterly disappointing. When it comes thai malaysian "east" asian food...from real experience....needs to be punchy flavoursome well balanced spices and freshness. All of the above were lacking. We had the Tom kha soup which was good.... it all went south from there. Lotus stems, flash fried too hard and not crispy and lacked any bite. Chilli and black pepper sause Soft shell crab, too sweet, lacked spicy notes, poorly seasoned Lamb Rendang - super tough meat, lack of depth of flavours. We barely felt the east asian spice mix in it, it was just another onion gravy. Si chuan Noodle - no si chuan chillies or any punch. We could barely feel the garlic even. Noodles overcooked. Thai Basil Fred rice....the basil leaves were far from fresh. Crumbled up no flavours. There was nothing in the fried that made it a thai basil fried rice. Overall it was too oily. The chilly symbol next to the dishes is a disguise. Everything was bland. The above doesnt equate to an expensive food experience at all. Its very pricey.....and poor. One star for service. Happy to discuss for more constructive feedback if interested.

Did not meet expectations. For a fine-dining restaurant, one would expect to be overwhelmed from the time you walked into the restaurant until you left by the ambiance, service, and food; however, this place fell short. *Ambience - The place is simple. The pictures will speak for itself. The view overlooking the EC flyover is ok. *Food - Good but not great. We took my some usuals to compare. Soft shell crap jumbo roll - Nice sized rolls with crispy crab within. Chicken breast skewers - Taste was good but chicken pieces were dry and thready. Pad thai with tofu - This was good! *Service - Service needs major improvements. Including ourselves there were 5 tables to cater to and yet they could not keep up. We ordered 2 starters and about 5 mins later 1 main. Got 1 starter and the main immediately after. Got the 2nd starter after enquiring. After eating the plates pile up on the table for long before being cleared. Need to work a lot to get the servers attention. Need to ask for water refills. The bill does come quick with an apparent lack of warmth. Does not stand up to other restaurants.

I love Pan Asian cuisine. We went for dinner for a birthday occasion. It's a roof top restaurant. Brrrr..! It's cold on winter days, yesterday was quite cold. Nice dinning area. Decent amount of lighting. Nice way to relax and have your food here. The dishes are actually expensive here. Like Rs.500 for soup. But the dishes have that real asian flavours like Thai, Indonesia, Singapore, Chinese flavours. The dishes are yummy and gives a sense of satisfaction. The prawn satay with peanut sauce are good. I prefer the chicken satay though. Thai green curry is yummy with steamed sticky rice. Nasigoren chicken rice is just too good with bursting Indonesian flavour. Singapore vermicelli noodles are tastier then the normal noodles. The only downside was the serving of food takes really long. More than 20 mins for dish to arrive. Brrrr..! Being cold outside and waiting for the food feels much longer. I'd expect much faster service being a 5 star restaurant. The bill came around 10K for 4 adults and 6 kids. There is no service charges here. Overall - 4/5 Ambience 4/5 Food 5/5 Service 2/5

Great experience overall! Was there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was great. We ordered chicken satay and veg dimsum as starters- both of which didn't disappoint! Main course was phad Thai and Singapore vermicelli noodles. The presentation for Phad thai was unique and very appealing. Both the noodles tasted. We underestimated portion sizes and ended up taking a doggy-bag home! The Jasmine tea we ordered was divine and a perfect accompaniment to the meal. Since I'd mentioned it was my husband's birthday we were celebrating, they got a lovely cheesecake with candles.. my husband was very happy with the gesture! Overall, we all had a great experience!

For what could be better: Mosquitoes can be a problem. But at our request, the waiter lit some citronella incense sticks which were, surprisingly, very effective. I'd made a reservation through dineout and called 6-7 hours earlier to confirm that the reservation was visible to them and inform them of the celebratory occassion. However, the maitre'd couldn't find any reservation in my name once we arrived. Reservation process may need some refinement! There doesn't seem to be a wheelchair accessible way to get to the restaurant, since we had to climb 2 flights of stairs. So, you may want to confirm if there's accessibility for wheelchairs in case you're going with someone with special needs. Ambience is nothing exceptional. But we loved the open air setting and colorful lights. Candlelit dinners in the semi-covered setting may not make sense because of the bright lights, but could be worth a try in the...

April 2024 dining experience: bringing down the rating from 4* to 3*, mainly for the food and the service.

The restaurant has moved to the 12th floor of The Oterra Hotel and provides a good night-view of the Electronic City neighborhood. East Restaurant only opens for dinner and the kitchen closes at 23:00.

In the new menu, they have added sushi, the rest of the items are the same as in their previous menu, but the prices have increased.

Our table had regular cutlery so we requested for chopsticks. The waiting staff got us chopsticks but both pairs were not clean - had some sticky substance all over them. They were quickly replaced when we brought this to the notice of the waiting staff.

We had specifically requested that the futomaki be wrapped in seaweed but when the dish arrived, there was no seaweed. The head of the waiting staff took back the dish from our table. The kitchen remade our futomaki with seaweed while we awaited, but this time, to our surprise, the portion got much smaller and the fried asparagus stems that were presented in the returned dish had disappeared in the remade dish. It appeared as if the kitchen had penalized us by taking away some ingredients and making the portion size smaller.

None of the other dishes we tried that evening stood out. Also, the portion sizes could be little more. Overall, an average experience at a fine dining restaurant in a five star hotel, hence bringing down the overall rating for the East...

I had the best time here with my husband on his birthday. They made us feel very special and was very patient. All the arrangements and decoration was done very well and went over the top by providing a bouquet and a customised birthday card for my husband which was so special. Starting from Mr. Dev whom I coordinated with was very patient and kind to understand all my requirements. He was not available at the venue as it was his off but he made sure that everything is done as requested and he briefed his team accordingly. He definitely kept his promise on providing us with the best of everything 😉 Mr. Shubham was there at the lobby to welcome us and guide us to the restaurant and it was very sweet of him to do that. Mr. Nitesh definitely needs a promotion because he's fantastic with his services. He served us food on time and as requested. Very patient and kind and helpful. Defines alot about his personality and good source in hospitality industry. He definitely needs a hike. Coming to none other than the person who served us yummy food. Chef Mewalal was outstanding. He made us the best food and we both enjoyed it. Food quality and taste was on point. He personally came to meet us to ask if we need any changes. Guys please try out chef mewalal's food. Thank you Team east and oterra ❤️ had...
