My wife booked this hotel for me in the hope that it would be a calm and restful night's stay before my flight the next day. We didn't realize this moxy hotel was all about trying to project some sort of hip and mod vibe (which by itself is so inauthentic), but turned out to be a really dysfunctional stay for a traveler like me. |1) The room key didn't work on day 1 when I checked in. Staff had to escort me to the room. |2) they offered a welcome beer/cocktail/mocktail but if you have been to Bangalore what you know is that with all the pollution, the first thing you want to do is rinse your mouth before you drink anything! The mocktail served in the room would have been better after I had a chance to freshen up. |3) Breakfast was not included in the astronomical tariff- Rs 11,000+ really! Give me a break! Had to be purchased separately, Rs 800 is the discounted rate, if you please|4) Shower only has their generic liquid body soap, shampoo and conditioner, which I prefer not to use, but there is no stand for your own soap or other bath products|4) The prop-up worktable is really flimsy and gets knocked over |5) There is no fan in the room, only A/C. If you've lived in India, and Bangalore in particular, you know that having ventilation (especially in a hermetically sealed room on the 4th floor) is important, even if you don't want the temperature to be low|6) The next morning the door key did not work again until around noon and I had to decide whether I should leave my passport and valuables in a room that I might not be able to get back into before I left for my flight, should their software systems malfunction|6) The breakfast was pretty bad in terms of ambience and taste. First off, I felt I had been dropped into a dance club in Ibiza at 3am when it was 9am in Bangalore. Rather than having a chance to enjoy a quiet breakfast with good South Indian filter coffee in a city where it is available everywhere for cheap, the filter coffee was an abomination (as was the coffee I tried later in their drip percolator- it was the color of cat piss and I didn't dare even taste it). ||To be fair, the sheets were clean and the shower was clean and there was ample hot water. The electric kettle in the room was clean inside and produced hot water. The water bottles could be bigger given how low the humidity was in the room. I woke up halfway through the night needing to hydrate and perform a nasya oil therapy to prevent any nosebleeds.||As another reviewer remarked, the staff are friendly and courteous and try to help, but the problem with this hotel is it is so fixated on its vibe that it completely misses the basics of the travelers experience: which is|a) guest should be able to get in and out of their room at their choice|b) use their bath products in the shower|c) have enough water to hydrate|d) have a solid work table for the tariff charged|e) have breakfast included for the tariff charged|f) have the opportunity to have a tasty meal comprised of local specialties that should be easy to prepare in a quiet setting||Some people may love the moxy vibe, but to me as an Indian who has lived abroad for 30+ years, it just seems so hollow and inauthentic in the way that some Indian hotels try to create a faux Western vibe with loud music and a grating ambience. Strangely enough, most hotels abroad don't try to project a noisy barroom atmosphere in the lobby and inflict that on their guests whether they want it or not. Usually there is a bar, if you want that, and there's quiet spaces for those who want that. Besides, there are so many other good Indian hotels that provide a great experience that is rooted in a respectful and authentic presentation of Indian traditions (such as O by Tamara). Moxy is not one such. Save your money and go frequent one of the other hotels. They prioritize sustainability over vibe (their bedroom slippers are far more comfortable) and they offer a great value for their rates. Staff are as courteous and you can enjoy some peace and quiet. I'll definitely not be returning to a moxy hotel anytime- good for those who prioritize vibe...

This is one review I am so happy and keen to write, Definitely no one asked me for a review. I feel its my duty to recognize a fantastic service. Moxy hotel at Bangalore Airport. Booked this place at it was convinient for a transit flight in Bangalor. That one guy Akash, delighted me. I have stayed in Thousands of hotels and I will definitely rank this as one of the best. Let me list what ever that delighted. 1 checked in very late at night. And they guy came to collect our luggaes, never seen a front desk employee rush to collect the bags from the car. My son wanted a visa paper to be printed. Akash said, no problem sir, my son asked he needs a colour pint out. He replied they dont have a colour printer but if we can send the document to his Whatsapp he will get it printed. He asked if he can deliver it in the morning. We said if he can do it tonight it will help to sleep peacefully. He said “sure” and did it. He said we are eligible for a complimentary drink but since its past 11 pm, he can give anything from bar as he said can have in the morning. Immediately he realised we check out early in the morning so he asked it we would like any thing else. We needed up having hot chocolate. I asked him if we can have Ola or uber in the morning, he said definitely. We told him we got 6 big bags to check in. How he said that they dont have such big cars but he can arrange a hotel car, two cars. I reluctantly said ok. But he said he will give us 2 cars but charge us only for one. I pinched my self to check if this is India. Morning we have a good breakfast, I ordered for a all veggie two egg masala omelette. It was very nice. My wife wanted one such and it was delivered. After she stated eating the guy( didn't ask his name ) came and said mam this omlett has ham. Do you still want it, and he simply took it away and gave a masala omlett just like mine. I had Cofee. My son wanted double espresso. He said to try their filter Cofee which he said we shouldn't miss. Seeing we liked the Cofee he asked my wife of she would like a filter Cofee. She said she has finished and want to depart. He said they will give that filter Cofee “to-go” , even though she was not keen to have Cofee, just did not want to say no to a kind offer. Rooms were neat, trendy and clean. Extra bed provided even without asking as we were 3 in a room. Earlier this month in USA at the Seatlle Downtown Sheraton Grand, those guys insulted me for a single bottle of mineral water asking I have to pay for it. ( that stupid tiny bottle of water wouldn't cost them 25 cents a bottle. This Moxy hotel when I checked in it had 6 complimentary bottle of water waiting for us. Surprised both are Bon Voy Marriott group hotels. Last but not the least, no one asked me to write a good review, but its my duty to recognize a good service.
If someone wants a lesson in “ Delighting the customer “ please learn from these young guys and gals at Moxy at bangalor...
Read moreI stayed at this property for 7 nights, and unfortunately, my experience was filled with multiple issues. I would not recommend this property to anyone. Upon the day on check-in, I took an Uber to the hotel, but the location on the map showed the property in an isolated area with no street light or people around. This created significant confusion and trouble, as the hotel did not provide the correct location on Google Maps. After returning from my workout around 11:30 PM, I went to take a shower, but when I turned on the shower, there was no shower gel in the bathroom. I had to call the front desk to have it delivered. The following day, I requested my room to be serviced at 1 PM, but when I returned at 11:30 PM, the room had not been cleaned. I had to call the front desk to have someone come up and clean the room. At checkout, the housekeeping manager explained that there had been a miscommunication with the room attendant, who assumed I didn’t want service, even though I had clearly asked for it to be done later. On the day of departure, I settled my bill around 10 AM and requested both an email and hard copy receipt. I had to follow up three times before the front desk manager, Deepali, finally provided it to me at 3:18 PM. Upon check out, I requested a weighing scale to check my luggage. The staff initially brought an incorrect scale, saying it that he is going to check with a maintenance. I had to call the front desk again, only to be told there was no weighing scale available. However, after speaking to the front desk manager, Deepali, a working scale was promptly provided. Lastly, I would advise against emailing the front desk manager, as she does not check her email or respond to guest inquiries. In comparison to my stay at Hilton, where I was treated with excellent service over 18 nights, my experience at this property was disappointing. I am sad to see Moxy, a brand under Marriott, fail to meet guest expectations, especially considering its potential for growth. The service should be aligned with the standards of the...
