SPR Veg Restaurant – Spacious, Comfortable & Reliable Vegetarian Dining

SPR Veg Restaurant in Mysore is my go-to place whenever I want a mix of comfort and luxury dining. Having visited multiple times, I can confidently say that the experience is always satisfying, though there’s still some room for improvement.

Ambience & Location

One of the standout features of this restaurant is its huge open space, making it an excellent spot for relaxed dining. The location is prime and easily accessible, and the ample parking space is a big plus, especially in a busy city like Mysore. Another great aspect I truly appreciate is their "No Smoking" policy, which they display clearly on a board. It adds to the clean and refreshing environment, making it an even better place for families and casual gatherings.

Food Quality

The food is always fresh and flavorful, consistently maintaining high standards. While it’s reliably good, I sometimes feel that a final touch of refinement in presentation or seasoning could elevate the experience even further. That being said, it’s still one of the better vegetarian dining options in Mysore.

Service & Staff

The staff are decent, but not extraordinary. They get the job done, but a little more attentiveness and warmth could make the service exceptional.

Final Thoughts

If you're looking for a spacious, comfortable, and consistently good vegetarian dining experience, SPR Veg Restaurant is a solid choice. The ambience, food quality, and no-smoking policy make it a pleasant and family-friendly destination. A little extra attention to detail in food presentation and service could make it even better.

Would I visit again? Absolutely. Would I love to see some...

Peaceful rainy lunch with amazing South Indian food

I went to SPR Veg for a late lunch on a rainy day, and the whole experience was unexpectedly great. The place has an open-air layout with greenery and multiple semi-outdoor rooms, so I could feel the cool, rainy breeze while eating—super relaxing.

I ordered the Plantain Leaf Meal Thali, which was a full spread served traditionally on a banana leaf. • Poori (3) with Sagu – the sagu was thick, flavorful, and full of vegetables. Loved it. • Palya – dry sabzi, tasty and well-cooked. • Kosambari – a kind of South Indian salad, fresh and balanced. • Rice with Sambar and Rasam – both were good, but the Rasam was outstanding. I even asked for an extra serving just to sip it like soup. • Curd, papad, pickle, payasa – the payasa (dessert) was excellent. Sweet, creamy, and just right to end the meal.

I also ordered Kashi Halwa, which blew my mind. It’s made from white pumpkin and reminded me of dudhi halwa from Maharashtra—but this one was next level. Easily one of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time.

The staff were polite and attentive. Toward the end they asked for a tip—not pushy—and I was honestly happy to give one. They deserved it. The meal cost just ₹250 + tip, and it felt like a steal.

Overall: Great food, peaceful vibes, good service. The rain, the breeze, the greenery—it all made the meal even more special. I left full and happy.

Would I go again? 100%. Especially on...

SPR Veg Restaurant in Mysore is often touted as one of the city's finest vegetarian dining establishments. While it certainly offers a pleasant ambiance with good lighting, our recent experience was a bit of a mixed bag.

The restaurant's interior is well-maintained and provides a comfortable setting for a meal. The service is generally efficient, though we did encounter a slight delay in receiving our order.

A Hit and Miss Culinary Experience

Babycorn Pepper Dry: This dish was a standout. The babycorn was cooked to perfection, and the spicy pepper sauce was flavorful and well-balanced.

Roti and Paneer Kadai: Unfortunately, this combination was a disappointment. The rotis were decent, but the paneer kadai lacked any significant flavor. It seemed as though the dish was prepared without salt, leaving it bland and unappetizing.

Value for Money

While the portions were generous, the quality of the paneer kadai was not commensurate with the price. The restaurant's reputation for good food and value for money was not met on this occasion.

Overall Impression

SPR Veg Restaurant has the potential to be an excellent dining option in Mysore. However, our experience suggests that the quality of the food can be inconsistent. If you plan to visit, it's advisable to stick to their more reliable dishes and perhaps avoid the...
