Sri Krishna Vilasa — Restaurant in Karnataka

Have been to this place a couple of times for their breakfast items and experience has been good. Today we decided to go there for dinner , and was horrified with the service of the waiters. We normally sit in the non-ac section, but today after a tiring day, decided to use the Ac section to feel more relaxed and have our dinner in peace. The waiter after a prolonged wait came to us with a sulking face and was literally behaving as if we were seated there to have free food. He seemed to be so angry that he had to work coz of our presence , and made every attempt to make us feel that way. We however ignored, trying to be empathetic towards him considering it was the end of the day. But this did not stop there. When he brought the bill and we paid the amount, he kept on staring at us to see how much tip we keep. Inspite of his disgusting service, we still gave kept him a tip and that did not satisfy him I guess. His fellow waiters round up with him, and as we were walking towards the wash basin, one of the waiters just goes ahead of us, spits in the basin area, and walks off even without pouring water. We had to switch on the tap and let the water clean his spit before we wash our hands. Still we kept quiet. Next as we walk towards the door , the entire gang of waiters round up near the door but not one of them had the courtesy to open the door . They were literally standing there like goondas . Our message to the owners: Today we might have left your place in silence inspite of such disgusting treatment from your waiters. The day is not far off, when one such disgusting attitude of your waiters will shut down the entire place. We mangaloreans believe in giving and taking respect . You have lost one customer today...

I have visited this lot many times and even now I do visit this regularly whenever I stay in Mangaluru (coz of lack of options in this area)

Likes: Big list with varied options in the menu, food is also decent, but the main issue is the attitude of the servers, especially the senior servers

Dislikes: They are least bothered to give the menu Even of you ask they run a marothon of jargons and food items by turning elsewhere By doing so, They say just 15% of the menu even if other items are available They serve as if it's an obligation or as if they are forced to do so You please don't look at their faces while leaving if you don't have cash tips

Summary The main advantage these waiters have got is... This is only one of its kind hotel in this surrounding... This lack of options have added more fuel to their attitude I feel that of the entire batch of servers/waiters is changed or fine tuned the hotel will rise up in the bar of its glory

The people in the cash counter or the owner probably are decent and...

5 Stars was only to catch your attention. Only few items are good. All the best finding service if you come after 9 in the morning. Even if there is no real rush, waiters don't do their job well. Once a waiter told me to pay by Paytm instead of card because there was a lot of rush. For open benne dosa they will say benne is already in the dosa andthey dont give on top (this I encountered on 2nd Feb 2020 at 9:45 AM I saw no benne on top of dosa and told waiter, he told me he cannot give because of rush. I had come to eat that dosa only). Only dosas are good ( few of them only), idlis are usually cold, chaats are hopeless and don't bother about thalis, they're bad too. So, a hotel with an arrogant array of waiters, decent food, ignoring administration, but still has prices as high as the good hotels as Mangalore. Just save some energy, go to NEW Tajmahal Cafe or Pathmudi Janata Deluxe instead. This place sucks in everything, and breakfast is the only thing keeping it...
