Recently visited The Hut restaurant located in Tumkur, and I must say it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience. The restaurant maintains a clean, welcoming environment and offers a unique rustic-themed ambience that stands out. Every aspect of the space has been thoughtfully designed — from the architectural layout to the interior decoration. The aesthetics are impressive, and it is evident that a lot of planning and effort has gone into creating a comfortable and visually appealing setting.

In terms of food, the restaurant offers excellent quality and taste. During our visit, we tried several dishes including corn chaat, roti, kaju masala, and a few other items. All the dishes were served hot, freshly prepared, and the taste was consistent and flavorful. The use of quality ingredients was clearly noticeable in every item served.

We also tried their ice creams, specifically the Gudbud and The Hut Special. I would especially recommend trying The Hut Special ice cream, which was rich, well-prepared, and offered a good balance of flavors and textures. In addition, we ordered fruit juices, and they were notably thick, fresh, and natural — with no added water or dilution, which is something we often encounter in other restaurants. This level of quality in beverages is worth appreciating.

The service at the restaurant was also commendable. The staff was prompt in attending to our table and the food was served without unnecessary delay. The entire service process was smooth and efficient.

Another major highlight is the pricing. The dishes and overall offerings are very reasonably priced, especially when compared to restaurants in Bangalore that offer similar menus and ambience. This makes The Hut an excellent value-for-money option.

The restaurant provides two types of seating arrangements — traditional table and chair seating, as well as a more relaxed, floor-seating arrangement. This adds a nice touch of flexibility for different preferences and occasions.

Disappointing Experience at The Hut: Unpleasant Service and Subpar Food

I recently had a disappointing experience at The Hut, a hotel located at a prime location on MG road. While the hotel's proximity to the bus stand was convenient, my overall visit left me thoroughly dissatisfied.

One of the major drawbacks of The Hut is its lack of parking space. It's unfortunate that the hotel does not provide its own parking facilities, which can be quite inconvenient for guests, especially those arriving by car. This is an aspect that the management should seriously consider improving.

Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. The service at The Hut was nothing short of pathetic. The staff appeared disinterested and provided lackluster assistance. It was evident that they lacked proper training in customer service. Their lack of attentiveness and responsiveness only added to the overall disappointment of my visit.

Moreover, the food served at The Hut was simply awful. The taste was far from satisfactory, and it left a lot to be desired. It's disheartening when a hotel fails to deliver even on the basic aspect of providing enjoyable meals. Considering the subpar quality of the food, it is difficult to justify the prices charged. The Hut fell short in terms of value for money, as the experience did not match the expectations.

Apart from the ambience, which was the only redeeming aspect, The Hut failed to impress in any other area. There are numerous other vegetarian restaurants in the vicinity that offer far better dining experiences. I would strongly recommend exploring other options rather than settling for The Hut.

In conclusion, my visit to The Hut was a regrettable experience. The absence of parking facilities, along with the overall poor service and disappointing food, made it evident that the hotel has lost its charm. I hope that the management takes note of these issues and makes the necessary improvements to restore the hotel's reputation.

I guess they use taste powder for their curries, not sure about oil quality they are using, they don't seem to be changing the oil often for deep fried items, you can smell the oxidised oil in the deep fried dishes, hygiene is also not upto the mark. Our whole family had stomach upset once after eating here, after that we never visited this restaurant again. I would never recommend eating here if you want to be healthy.

Now owner would come and say 100 things to justify his restaurant like we see in the other reviews but his restaurant service and food is very poor.

Edit 1: Reply for the owner's comment: You don't have to worry about my family's health, I am really concerned about the people who are willing to dine in your hotel, you can keep a check on the quality of your hotel and food you are serving like you have checked my reviews, if not you need a counselling from an expert psychiatrist for playing with people's health, we got health upset whenever we gone to hotels run by owners like you, I called them out in my reviews so that other people don't experience the same. It is because of people like you running such hotels we have almost stopped eating outside, either we eat it in the home or we go to good fine dine restaurants once in a while.

Instead of defending your hotel and it's service try to improve the quality of your service, first use good quality oil, rotate oil often for deep fried items, instruct your people to wear gloves, cover the head and maintain their personal hygiene, keep the hotel area hygenic, clean it often. Your people literally admitted of using taste powders when asked. I am not sure if regular inspection is done by the health department.

Apparently running it for 3.5 decades isn't the torch bearer for quality of the food and it's service, you can see the number of 1 star rating reviews and their experience by filtering reviews to the lowest.
