Review of Tiniri Restaurant - Authentic South Indian Dishes

Rating: ★★★★☆

As an avid lover of South Indian cuisine, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tiniri Restaurant, and I must say, it was a delightful culinary experience. Located in the heart of the city, the restaurant exudes a warm and inviting ambiance with a hint of traditional decor that immediately transports you to the vibrant streets of South India.

The menu at Tiniri Restaurant boasts an extensive selection of South Indian dishes, and it was evident that the chefs take immense pride in preserving the authenticity of the cuisine. The aroma of freshly ground spices wafting through the air was enough to awaken my taste buds and pique my curiosity about what was to come.

For starters, I opted for the classic Medu Vada and Masala Dosa. The Medu Vada was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a soft and fluffy interior, and paired wonderfully with the accompanying coconut chutney and sambar. The Masala Dosa, too, was outstanding, featuring a thin, golden-brown crepe filled with a spiced potato filling. It was served with an array of delectable chutneys, each bursting with flavor.

Moving on to the main course, I tried their popular Thali meal, which was a feast for the senses. The Thali comprised a variety of dishes, including Sambar, Rasam, Avial, Poriyal, Papad, and more. Each item was distinct and cooked to perfection, showcasing the richness of South Indian spices and the chef's culinary expertise. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no one leaves the table feeling unsatisfied.

The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their Biryani. While not a traditional South Indian dish, Tiniri's Biryani was a delightful fusion of flavors. Fragrant basmati rice layered with succulent pieces of chicken and a harmonious blend of spices left me in awe. It was a beautiful marriage of North and South Indian culinary influences.

To end on a sweet note, I savored their dessert, the delectable Payasam. The creamy, milky goodness with a perfect balance of sweetness left me craving for more.

The service at Tiniri Restaurant was commendable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and well-versed with the menu. They were more than willing to explain the dishes to first-timers like me and catered to individual preferences with a smile.

The only minor drawback was that the restaurant tends to get quite crowded during peak hours, leading to slightly longer wait times. However, the food and overall experience more than made up for it.

In conclusion, Tiniri Restaurant is a must-visit for all South Indian cuisine enthusiasts. The dedication to preserving authentic flavors, along with a few creative surprises, makes this place a standout. I highly recommend trying their Thali and Biryani for a truly unforgettable gastronomic journey. Tiniri has undoubtedly earned its place as one of the best South Indian...

Had ordered Chole Batura, Idli, vada, Sira, Bisibele bath at different times. Absolutely yummy and the price is very very reasonable. Perhaps the best South indian preparation in Belgaum. Highly recommended. The only sore point is seeing the staff handling our food (idli, vada) with their bare hands, they need to put gloves, hope they take it in the right sense. Update : tried their Thali which is available only in the afternoon, one chapati, veg, curd rice, plain rice , sambar. It was sufficient for one person and tasty. Update: had idli and Vada for breakfast. Absolutely soft and fluffy idlis, Vada was amazingly soft and tasty, chutney and sambar were very tasty. The best in Belgaum. Update 2.10.25 - had idli vada, they had run out of coconut green chutney, instead got some red chutney and sambar. Was very good. Unfortunately the staff are still handling idli and vada with their bare hands, instead of wearing a glove. This has to be changed and they should wear gloves while handling food. Hope the management takes this recommendation in the right sense. For everything else it's highly recommended. Update: 21.10.25 - ordered a tatte idli. The idli was soft and yummy, which was served with red chutney and some bhaji, asked them for green chutney which they obliged. The Green and Red Chutneys were FIERY HOT!! I do eat a lot of spicy stuff, but this was beyond spicy. Could not finish the tatte idli. Complained to the person in charge. Hope they rectify this.

Great place with good food. They've got the Bengaluru vibes to belagavi beautifully. The place is kept neat, beautifully done with the interiors, you have like an open kitchen where you can actually see the inside. Right now it's clean, and seems very maintained. I just hope pray they continue to keep it that way. Food - We tasted Idli, Vada, Masala Dosa and Coffee so far. On our next visit, we'll try more. Idli is good, Vada is excellent considering North Karnataka, Masala Dosa (Butter) is excellent too. Nice golden crispy, just like what you would get in Bengaluru. They've ticked the boxes exactly as expected and they've done a good job. Even the chutney and sambar is excellent. It connects to Bengaluru very well. Again, I just pray they maintain this throughout. Service - Service is good. No complaints. The only thing I observed is their staff are not jelling up with each other. You could see a couple of staffs stressed out because of some other staff and they are constantly spatting on each other. I guess it's just because it's new and there's crowd. You see this even in Bengaluru, I think they'll just get used to it over time. I'd rate this place over all the places in belagavi, just because it's new and it's great. I repeat, I hope these guys continue to maintain it. Fingers crossed, if they do this I'm sure they'll have a good run for a very long time.
