Fine dining restaurant culture make their entry into Trivandrum. Atelier offers the classy experience of a Broadway diner in Trivandrum. Although Upper crust and Villa Maya have been there in the city for a few years, Atelier takes it to another level.
My wife and I crashed the place this Sunday night. The concierge at the front desk greets us in and escorts us to our table. The interior is chick grey and rustic giving the look of a raw concrete finish. The mellow green fabric on the furniture goes admirably well with the grey of the walls.
The menu seemed all Greek to me. The waiters were well-versed in English and were quite articulate about the complexities in the menu. We ordered two items for main course- Beef steak and Potato 60 degree duck breast
While waiting for the order, I strolled all over the place. The kitchen had a glass wall facing the dining area which leaves everything transparent to the customer. I saw my food being prepared. The chefs in the kitchen are doing a piece of art in there. The washrooms are sleek. Moderately, but warmly lit dining areas add to elegance of the space.
Our waiter brought us two complimentary items which were on the house- Amuse bouche and a bread basket with assorted types of butter. Those were some enjoyable appetizers.
Our main course arrived in 20 mins. The duck and the beef were intricately adorned with green herbs, veggies and the sauce that goes with it. With mashed potato as a side, the entire dish was delectable. Cherry dipping came with the duck and cashew sauce for the beef. Any one of the dishes would be filling for the average person.
The pricing of the dishes were a little high, but that’s the price for fine-dining. That’s what the restaurant is meant for... To cater to those who seek the larger-than-life feast experience.
We enjoyed our night at the place. Those who may find it affordable can pay a visit to the place, especially if you wanna give your better half a quality dine-time for their birthday or...

Each dish we sampled was truly exquisite, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chef.
Additionally, the interior exudes an aura of premium sophistication, complemented by Ambrosia's bakery products and a bar counter where the art of Mojito mixing unfolds.
Tried the below.
Suki Soup - 185 Cream Of Chicken Soup - 185 Chicken Perattu - 284 Cheesy Fries - 200 Chicken Lollipop - 276 Hamburger- 210 Cheesy Chicken Pizza (Regular) - 220 Spaghetti Bolognese Chicken- 347 Kerala Parotta - 19 Hazelnut Hot Chocolate - 161
Suki Soup was fiery broth, brimming with tender noodles and an array of vibrant vegetables, evoking the essence of Thai cuisine.
The cream of chicken was delightfully sweet, complemented by its luxurious, velvety creaminess and generous chunks of succulent chicken.
The cheesy fries were indulgently loaded that they disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The chicken lollipop was a tantalizing treat, bursting with tender juiciness, coated in a mouthwatering barbecue sauce and chili, truly a finger-licking delight.
The hamburger made its rounds, each bite eagerly savored as everyone clamored for another taste of its irresistible goodness.
The chicken peratt was a culinary masterpiece, its thick, rich semi-gravy satisfyingly abundant, enough to be shared among five delighted diners.
Though the Bolognese leaned a tad towards dryness, its delicious flavor still shone through.
Kudos to the entire team, including the chef and all the staff, for their exceptional attentiveness and dedication to soliciting opinions...
Read moreThe road from Pattom to Kuravankonam is full with a lot of eating out places. So when yet another place opens, how do you set yourself apart.
Welcome to Atelier by Ambrosia. It looks more like a coffee shop from the outside. When you enter, one is actually surprised by the amount of space out there. It is large enough that you can have conversations without being distracted by others. However I still feel they can use their space better. Now this is fine dining restaurant, and that is what sets it apart from others. Yes, there is Upper Crest further down, but here you have Indian dishes as well. Some of the dishes have taken inspiration from local tastes, and justice had been done. You have a little bit of English, Arabic, French and Italian mix. The range of soups for now is very small, but satisfying. It is followed by salads and appetisers, with a larger range. For main course we ordered glazed pork chops, lamb cutlets and spaghetti. I have to say that lamb cutlets were the best I have had on recent memory. This is not to say that pork chops weren't as good.
On a different note, I found the walls were too empty and bland. It certainly can be worked on. I did have trouble with the swipe machine, but that can be ignored as a temporary glitch. Parking is limited, or else you need to park on the road. Overall I was satisfied with the taste and experience, and I wouldn't mind going again. Yes, it is a bit on the higher side, but as long as they can keep and improve, it...
