I deeply regret visiting this hotel again. This is the second time I've experienced such terrible service. Initially, I went to this branch because I liked their Vyttila location and expected at least a minimum standard of quality.
It was around 9 PM when we ordered Mandi, and there were only two or three other customers in the entire place. Naturally, I assumed the food would be served quickly. Instead, we had to wait for 40 minutes. We kept reassuring ourselves that perhaps they were preparing it fresh, which is why it was taking so long. But when the food finally arrived, it was coldālike it had just been taken out of a fridge!
Frustrated, I asked the waiter why it took so long and why the food was cold. His response was shocking: "If you want to eat, eat; otherwise, leave." At that point, it was late at night, and I was with my family, so I chose not to escalate the issue further. I just paid and left, vowing never to return to this place again.
Fast forward to todayāunfortunately, due to traffic, I had no choice but to stop there to buy a Christmas cake. I was hoping theyād have cakes from a popular brand, but instead, they only offered their own homemade cake. Against my better judgment and because of the traffic, I purchased one.
Later, on our way to a relative's house, we stopped to buy fruits and found a well-known brand's cake. Since I had no confidence in the cake I purchased from Ceylon Bake House, I bought the branded one and gave it to my relatives. Once we got home, my family and I tried the cake from Ceylon Bake Houseāand it was awful. The plum cake was dry, tasteless, and overpriced compared to cakes from reputable brands.
This hotel/bakery has consistently disappointed me with its terrible service and subpar food. I will never visit this place again and strongly advise others to avoid it. There are plenty of better hotels and bakeries nearbyādonāt waste your time...

The food - Firstly, I did not receive what i ordered. I was forced to eat what was brought to me out of hunger. The food quality was subpar, lacked flavour. Despite finding the chicken in my biryani very dry and overcooked, seeing the person at the next table receive no piece at all in his biriyani made me realize how minor my disappointment was in comparison.
Service - The most disappointing aspect of the dining experience was the attitude of the servers and staff. They exhibited a noticeable lack of professionalism, with an indifferent and sometimes even condescending demeanor towards customers.(we had to witness not one, but two such events in the 1hour we spent there today, being an auspicious day) This negative attitude further exacerbated the already poor experience, leaving a lasting impression of dissatisfaction and discomfort.
Front Desk Service: The front desk person's (Mr.Noufal) inability to perform basic mathematics was concerning. This lack of proficiency not only led to confusion but also reflected poorly on the restaurant's attention to detail and competence in basic operations.
They didn't have menus or provide printed bills, which made the experience even more frustrating and confusing. So be cautious of potential overcharging at this place!! Everything seemed very overpriced so we went ahead to check with Mr.Noufal, who was, to our surprise, totally unaware of this issue (or pretended to be so)!! Later we found out that we were over charged for no absolute reason!!!
I want to clarify that my feedback is about the Perumbavoor branch of Ceylon Bake House and not directed towards the entire chain of restaurants. My experiences at their Vyttila and MG Road outlets...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst food ever experienced. Chicken ordered was fleshy not at all baked. Chapati was the dough it self. Service is average. Very expensive!!!.
We ordered for chapati, gobi 65,chicken varathuarachathu, biriyani rice, veg biriyani, egg masala. At the time of order we had asked them for proper cooking and frying of the above as we had experience similar before here in perumbavoor itself. We complained to the supplier regarding the same and he asked us to wait and he took all the uncooked to the kitchen and no further response was there. We waited for more than 10 minutes . Finally we went to the counter to pay the bill. There when we complain the counter boy who called for the manager who only took the order from our table. Manager had just a word "sorry". The same issue can be reported to the food and safety department at that moment. Guess the further consequences. We did not do so because we are regular customers at Ceylon ernakulam since 1995. Bill is enclosed. No further to visit to perumbavoor and word of mouth will...
