During a short 24-hour visit to Kozhikode, I had the chance to dine at Copper Kitchen for dinner. While Paragon was the name that came up repeatedly in recommendations, we decided to try something different—and I’m glad we did.
My friend and I walked in around 9 PM on a Tuesday, expecting a quiet scene given the common belief that Kozhikode winds down early. We couldn’t have been more wrong. Facing Calicut beach and located in a prime stretch, Copper Kitchen was buzzing with energy. The place looked shiny and new, and the crowd it was pulling in made us choose it over Paragon, which we saved for another time.
The restaurant is well-lit, with modern interiors and a lively waiting area. Staff were doing their best to manage the crowd professionally and with calm efficiency. As a party of two, we were lucky to get a table almost immediately. We were seated on the second floor—there’s a lift, but I didn’t notice a ramp at the entrance, so accessibility might be limited.
The setup was contemporary, and the menu struck a nice balance between traditional offerings and premium presentation. Ingredient descriptions and photos added a polished touch. Our waiter, though stretched thin across tables, was polite and helpful. He offered suggestions and even reheated a dish that had cooled while we waited for the gravy. A heads-up: if the place is busy, expect a 15-minute wait for your order. Best to place everything upfront and request a course-wise serving.
We ordered a mix of veg and non-veg dishes to keep things balanced and avoid waste. The veg manchow soup was thick, flavorful, and topped with crunchy noodles. The chicken kebab was excellent—succulent and well-spiced. The chicken shawarma roll was tasty but small in portion. Both the Malabar parotta and nool parotta were good, with the latter being the standout. The paneer butter masala had soft paneer and decent flavor, though I’d rate the presentation at 4 stars. The chilli mushroom was another hit—spicy, tangy, and well-textured.
For about ₹650 per person, we ate to our heart’s content. The portion sizes were generous, and the value for money was undeniable. Washrooms were new and well maintained, which added to the overall comfort of the experience.
Copper Kitchen may not be the most talked-about name (for tourists from other states) in Kozhikode yet, but it’s definitely worth a visit—especially if you’re looking for a lively, modern dining spot with solid food and a...
Read moreDisastrous Lunch Buffet Experience at Copper Kitchen - Avoid at All Costs I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at Copper Kitchen on 01.04.25. What was intended to be a pleasant lunch buffet with a pre-booked reservation turned into a chaotic and infuriating ordeal. We arrived promptly at 12:30 PM, as per our reservation, only to be met with confusion and a complete lack of organization. Despite clearly stating our reservation, we were left standing, waiting, and repeatedly told to "wait a few more minutes." Those "few minutes" stretched into a full hour. From 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, we endured a frustrating limbo, with no clear explanation or apology for the delay. To add insult to injury, the attitude of one particular supervisor was utterly unacceptable. Their demeanor was dismissive, bordering on rude, and they showed absolutely no concern for our inconvenience. Instead of offering a solution or even a sincere apology, we were met with curt responses and a complete disregard for our time. It was only after persistent complaints and a significant waste of our valuable time that we were finally served food at 2:15 PM. By this point, our appetite and patience had long since evaporated. The entire experience left a sour taste, far worse than any subpar dish they could have served. While the food itself was ultimately served, the sheer incompetence and disrespectful treatment we received overshadowed any potential culinary merits. A reservation, in theory, should guarantee a timely and organized dining experience. At Copper Kitchen, it seems to be nothing more than a suggestion. It felt like they are good at taking the reservation but don't know to hold the reservation. I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Copper Kitchen, particularly for the lunch buffet, to reconsider. The management's inability to honor reservations and their staff's appalling attitude are simply unacceptable. Save yourself the frustration and dine elsewhere. This establishment clearly has no regard for its customers' time or...

We had a wonderful dining experience at Copper Kitchen! The ambiance was lovely, with great vibes and a warm atmosphere. The waiters and staff were friendly and attentive.
We ordered the Chicken Platter, Chicken Pollichath, and Beef Stew. While everything was tasty, the porotta became small and hard after a 2-minute wait. Unfortunately, the Chicken Pollichath didn't quite meet my expectations, but the Chicken Platter was delicious!
What truly impressed us was the excellent service and amenities:
Complimentary Parking: The staff efficiently managed parking, making our arrival stress-free. Clean and Well-Maintained Washrooms: A big thumbs up for the spotless and hygienic restrooms! Rooftop Dining (Optional): We loved the option to dine on the rooftop, where we enjoyed breathtaking views of the beach.
Overall, Copper Kitchen is a nice and super restaurant. We'll definitely be back to try more of their offerings!
Recommendation: Improve the porotta serving size and texture, and refine the Chicken Pollichath recipe.
Will we return? Yes! We're already looking forward to...
