One of the coolest cafes nestled near the beach. The ambience was spectacular and they spared no effort for the Christmas theme lol.
Taste: 4/5 Price: 3.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambience: 4.5/5
Starting off with garlic bread, it was just toasted regular garlic bread, nothing special but I love garlic bread so yeah. Loaded fries were great, loved the sauce blend they used. Pizza looked better than it tasted lol. Cheese pull was awesome and they didn't skimp out on the cheese. However, it had pretty much no flavour to it which was slightly odd. Overall it was fine, but maybe the cheese was a bit underwhelming.
Lotus Biscoff shake was expensive but, it tasted awesome. So no complaints, except from my wallet. Hot chocolate was like any other, nothing special. A solid 7/10.
Paneer burger was great, loved the flavours and the way it all complemented each other in my mouth lol.
The sizzler platter took the spotlight though. It could feed 3-4 people or me with an appetite. It had toasted paneer, fries, wedges, veggies and rice, sauces and cut up slices of veg patty. It tastes good and is definitely worth the price. It felt more like a cozy cafe with loads of options than your typical fast food place, which is nice.
Everything went well, but they did mention it might take a while since we arrived right when they opened. Wait time was around 30-40 minutes. Parking is available on the street and in front of the cafe, and also there were a ton of cute pastries which I might try out in the future. Also keep in mind this place is known for their non veg options so check out other reviews for those. I'd definitely recommend this to someone with a large appetite. Best suited for groups,...
Read moreHappy Cup Cafe used to be one of the best spots in Calicut, but lately, the consistency just isn’t there. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed by the lack of options—there were only 5 or 6 choices, which felt limited compared to the wide variety available for non-vegetarians. It’s a small cafe with a cozy vibe, warm lighting, and a nice ambience, but the menu balance really needs some work.
That said, the food I ordered was quite tasty. Their baked vegetables, veg Mexican quesadillas, and veg pesto pasta were delicious. The iced teas were refreshing as well. However, the biggest drawback was the waiting time—honestly, the food took forever to reach the table. It’s a shame because the flavors were spot-on, but the delay definitely dampened the experience.
I do want to mention the service. The girl serving today was polite, friendly, and did her best despite having a lot of customers to manage. She handled the rush well, but it’s clear the place could benefit from more staff during busy hours.
If they could bring back the consistency they were once known for, expand their vegetarian offerings, and sort out the long waiting times, I believe Happy Cup Cafe could easily return to its...

The food was great, with the burger standing out as juicy and flavorful. But the highlight of my visit was the iced tea—so good that I ended up having two! It was incredibly refreshing, perfectly brewed, and balanced just right. Easily one of the best iced teas I’ve had anywhere.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly, polite, and genuinely happy, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the café’s overall vibe. They were attentive without being intrusive, and made sure everything was served just right.
