I visited Hotel Nalanda in Palakkad with my family during lunchtime, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

The dining area was poorly designed with very limited space, barely enough to seat a few families. We asked the manager at the counter about the waiting time, and he informed us it would be just 10 minutes, and that we would be called once a table was free. Unfortunately, we waited outside for over 30 minutes with no communication from the staff. Meanwhile, people who arrived after us were seated promptly. Finally, I had to go inside and find a table myself.

We ordered biryani, chicken noodles, and some juices. When the waiter first brought water, we noticed white, dust-like particles floating in the glasses. He dismissed it casually, claiming it was because of hot water. We requested clean water, and he returned with a jar of extremely hot water, which was difficult to even touch. It felt intentional and unprofessional, likely due to the earlier complaint.

Things only got worse when we noticed flies and insects inside the restaurant, and shockingly, some were crawling near and even on the food. It was truly disturbing and unacceptable. The hygiene level was appalling for any dining establishment.

Adding to that, the spoons provided were dirty and poorly cleaned. When I brought this to the manager’s attention, he replaced them and apologized, acknowledging it was their mistake—but by then, our dining experience was completely ruined.

The food itself lacked flavor, the service was highly unprofessional, and the environment was unhygienic and uncomfortable. As a family, we were truly disappointed and even concerned about our health and well-being during the visit.

I strongly do not recommend Hotel Nalanda to anyone looking for a clean, safe, and pleasant dining experience in Palakkad. This place needs serious improvement in both staff attitude and...

I recently ordered food from Hotel Nalanda in Palakkad through Swiggy, expecting a satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant, and I feel compelled to share my feedback.

To begin with, the quality of the dishes I received was extremely disappointing. I ordered Gobi Manchurian, Boneless Chicken 65, Beef Roast, and Parottas. Regrettably, none of these items met my expectations.

Beef Roast. It was an utter disappointment. The dish had an overwhelming amount of onions and only a meager amount of beef. The portion was not only lacking in quantity but also came at a high price. It left me unsatisfied and dissatisfied. don't name it as beef roast, name it as ullikari. pathetic!

Furthermore, both curries shared a common flaw - an excessive use of onions. The overpowering taste of onion in both dishes was highly unpleasant, and to make matters worse, the onions had an unpleasant, sweet taste that did not complement the flavors of the curries. It was a regrettable experience.

The Chicken 65 was another letdown. It resembled cold pakodas rather than the flavorful and aromatic dish I had anticipated. The excessive use of tamarind overshadowed any enjoyable aspects of the dish, leaving me disappointed.

However, I must acknowledge that the saving grace of my order was the Parottas. It served its purpose by satisfying my hunger. I only ate parottas. If there is one item I would recommend from Hotel Nalanda, it would be the Parotta.

In conclusion, I am compelled to give Hotel Nalanda a one-star rating based on my overall experience. I sincerely hope that this feedback is taken constructively, and the necessary improvements are made to enhance the quality of the food and dining experience for...

I recently visited this restaurant for the fourth or fifth time, hoping for a better experience, but unfortunately, it fell short once again. I started with the sweet corn soup, which was quite disappointing, while the tomato soup was decent. The Gobi 65 and chilly parotta were both good and a nice start to the meal. For the bread, I tried the plain naan, butter naan, and garlic naan, along with idiyappam and appam. The breads were large and of decent quality. The ghee rice was okay, but the veg Schezwan fried rice stood out as tasty. Moving to the main course, I sampled the mix veg curry, paneer butter masala, malai kofta, Manchurian gravy, and pepper mushroom. The pepper mushroom was the best among these, while the paneer butter masala was good enough. I would avoid the Manchurian gravy, and the others were just okay. For dessert, the pista ice cream was enjoyable. However, the service has consistently been a major issue. When I asked about the ingredients of some dishes, the waiter left to consult the chef and never returned. I waited over 30 minutes for another waiter to attend to us, and this has happened twice. They are too slow, and when I ordered food, everything came out together—soup and main courses all at once—leaving no space on the table and causing our food to get cold before we could eat.

Given the persistent service issues, I don’t think I’ll be returning. While the food is okay, the overall experience just...

I visited the restaurant during lunch time with my colleagues. It was heavily crowded with lots of people waiting out side or leaving without getting a seat. I thought they could have managed this better. At last we got seats with the help of a waiter. All these proceedings were watched by 3-4 persons in the cash counter without any interference. But thanks, we got seats after waiting for 20 minutes or so. Now the food part. I had veg meals. The rice was overcooked. But curries including sambar were lip smacking. The beef roast we ordered was expensive for the quantity, but tasty. My colleagues ordered veg fried rice, butter chicken and biriyani. Those were good they say. At last we ordered juices. Water melon juice was tasty. Service is good. But the crowded atmosphere was really tesing the waiters too.
