Review of Indian Coffee House, Chengannur
I recently revisited the Indian Coffee House in Chengannur after a year, and while there were some positives, my experience fell short in several areas.
Food & Price: The food continues to be a highlight. The Ghee Masala Dosa is a must-try, and their tea and coffee never disappoint. The prices remain reasonable, which is always a plus.
Ambience & Interior: However, the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired. The interior feels neglected and in need of maintenance. This detracts from the overall experience, especially since the space holds so much potential. It would be great if the management invested in making the environment more inviting and comfortable for guests.
Staff: Unfortunately, the staff interaction was less than ideal. While a few were polite, the one who attended to us was rude, which negatively impacted the overall service experience. Customer service is a key factor in creating a welcoming atmosphere, and this is an area that definitely needs improvement.
Cleanliness: A major concern was the cleanliness of the restaurant. I noticed staff washing plates and utensils in the customer washing area, which was off-putting and unprofessional. Tasks like these should be done out of sight of customers to maintain a hygienic and pleasant environment.
Additionally, the washroom, especially the ladies’ restroom, was in a poor condition. It urgently needs attention to ensure cleanliness and comfort for all customers.
Overall: While the food quality and pricing remain strong, the overall experience was marred by the issues mentioned above. With some attention to the interior, staff training, cleanliness, and restroom maintenance, the Indian Coffee House in Chengannur could easily improve and offer a much more enjoyable experience. I still believe in the brand, and I hope that management takes note of these concerns and addresses them. I look forward to returning in the future with hopes of a...
Read moreAt first. I like this Indian Coffee House Cooperative because it offers purified warm water for free, the kitchen is clean, the food is simple, not extraordinary but tasty. The prices are low but comparing to other places with same quality acceptable mostly cheaper. For me as western tourist the food is more important than the inner architecture or design. And I never felt sick after enjoying the meal. I prefer biryani, masala dosa and egg meals there. Unbeatable out of my point of view is the coffee: Set Coffee 25 Rs (four smaller cups) in European Quality (strong, good taste like expresso somehow). The service is very kind and friendly but not stressing like I often experienced throughout India. Just 4 stars just in case that you from abroad are not expecting special furnishing or food arrangements. The Indian Coffee House offers a conference room...
Read moreThe worst restaurant facility i have ever been. Nowadays Indian coffee house's are losing their long term credibility as a brand. As we travel with kids and women, the first priority for stopping by a restaurant is may not be the food alone but also the toilet facilities. Sad to say this coffee house is providing the worst toilet facilities. There was raining while we reached here and we went out of the car and walked in the to approach the toilet, there was no shade or roof. We entered the restaurant with wet clothes and hair. The table waiters came with their raja like attire, we went laughed at sight of their dress code. We were murmuring about the toilet and the attire...
