New Hotel 1957 — Restaurant in Kerala

I visited this hotel with my family for iftar during Ramadan. While we were dining, two elderly women approached us and politely asked for some food (dates and juice) so they could break their fast at magrib. One of them had mental health issues and behaved like a child. My mother kindly invited them to join us, and we ordered food for them.

However, the cashier, Abbas, reacted harshly. He scolded them, demanding to know if they had money, and told them to leave if they didn’t. Even after we assured him that we would pay for their food, his behavior remained unprofessional. Later, when one of the women asked for tissue (referring to it in her own way), the same cashier publicly humiliated them, making disrespectful remarks about them in front of other customers.

This kind of inhumane treatment is unacceptable, especially in a hospitality setting. A restaurant should show basic respect and compassion to all individuals, regardless of their situation. I hope the management takes action to ensure such incidents don’t...

Went for dinner in family ac room. Really exhausted as the ac is not working and full of night flies there so they are not interested to switch on light. Below average seating arrangement.

Somewhat we ordered pepper chicken and porotta. Pepper chicken is bland and there is no pepper in that instead of that.looks and tastes like chilly chicken but not really like that also. Full of sause so we asked about the pepperone they were like this is the type of pepper chicken will get from there. Out of hungry and notime we had that like pickle just to eat our porotta. Very good place for having local delicacies. Didn't appeal to me as a eat-in place so I went for a takeaway. I had heard a lot about Puttu but never had it. One of the spice and souvenir shop owner highly recommended this restaurant for Puttu. The staff is helpful and showed me how Puttus look like before I ordered. Also, the staff gave me suggestions on choice of curry that'll go well with Puttu. I really loved the spicy chicken curry. Also, it appeared that the Malabar paranthas are very popular here.
