Had one of the worst dining dinner experiences ever in this place.
Problems with food: They have a very limited menu, but the expectation from a restaurant which is a part of a chain like Best Western would be perfect execution of their limited menu. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single dish which we were happy with. We started with soups. The server mixed up the vegetarian and non vegetarian soups. The sweet corn soup was decent but hot and sour had way too much pepper which was burning our mouth and lips. Dragon chicken was served to us cold, on requesting to serve it hot, they served it super dry and rubbery, impossible to cut even with a knife. The tuar dal was low on salt, paneer makhni was tasteless and lacked finesse. Fortunately we did not have any issue with the chapati and steamed rice.
Problems with service: There were three waiters in the restaurant, yet no one came to take our order or seated us. After much requesting, our order was taken. There wasn't a clear line of communication and the server couldn't figure out which soup is vegetarian and which is non veg. We weren't served water unless we requested for it a couple times for each refill. The waiters were not at all apologetic or interested in taking our feedback about the food. They ignored us even when we clearly gave our feedback to two of the three servers. They were more interested in setting up the place for breakfast next day, hence were clattering the plates loudly while arranging them without wondering how unpleasant it could be for us. We weren't even given finger bowls at the end, while another table was.
Needless to say, I would never be visiting any of the best Western restaurants considering...
Read moreTl;dr: DO NOT GO HERE OR YOU'LL THINK ALL OF KERALA IS BAD.
FULL REVIEW : They say too many cooks, spoil the broth. Well that definitely is not the case, here at the bungalow. There are barely any cooks to make the broth, let alone spoil it.
The waiter, was in a rush. Considering we were a group of just 4 people in an empty restaurant, that seemed odd. Add to the fact that when i asked to repeat the order please, the waiter replied in an exasperated tone, "order kiya hi kya hai"
Then we begin our penance, meditation, yoga or whatever you want to call it.
The food I am a vegetarian and there are barely any options available. That's fine though not their fault. We ordered some basic stuff like french fries, kadhai paneer and 4 kerala parottas.
Food tastes okay.
We ask for some onions.
Meanwhile another group has ordered some stuff.
The Service 45 mins later the food comes. The plates, yet to arrive. Then the waiter goes and gets the plates (this is a new waiter)
We eat our food and ask for 4 more parottas.
Onions have been forgotten.
2 parottas arrive after 20 mins and my friend asking for it again.
Onions have arrived.
Another 15 mins and another 2 parottas arrive.
Meanwhile the group that had joined us earlier, has recieved their order. Instead of veg soup they have got chicken soup.
Absolutely bad service idk what it was down to but my god this was a...
Read moreProbably they have a really wonderful kitchen, because their wait staff prefer to stay in kitchen than in the dining area. I happened to ask for water during breakfast service. The lady staff literally disappeared and later ignored us after reappearing. On the other day I had to get water myself. Chicken was undercooked, as good as raw, in hyderabadi biryani as well as in malabar chicken. Seriously how tough is to cook chicken. Let us not even go to the authenticity of hyderabad biryani. Jeera rice with grilled chicken doesn't make hyderabad biryani. Frankly no one outside hyderabad gets it right, so I don't really blame them. But a restaurant that cannot cook the regional favourite (malabar cuisine in kerala) doesn't deserve to be in business. The veg jalfrezy they serve here should be given to traffic violaters, as a punishment they will respect traffic rules all their life after that. No wonder it runs mostly empty except during the complementary breakfast. Coming to the service, I had to go to the kitchen to get hold of a staff to ask for a spoon. The waiting staff who brought the food to the table during dinner didn't wait to serve it. Maybe he was in hurry to pack up so he thought it was right to run away. "Help yourself" is the motto here. This restaurant should be avoided like plague, chef fired and restaurant burnt down. It's a blot on such a...
