This restaurant seems to have changed management recently from the earlier Navya which was excellent especially the Navya Patisserie on the ground floor. The present management is a disaster. Absolutely no customer service and zero management expertise. They are currently thriving on the reputation of the earlier establishment..one which they will very soon summarily destroy.

We were a family of three and needed a fairly quick dinner and consulted the waiter and accordingly ordered food that would be delivered quickly. We repeatedly requested them to bring the food quickly as my son needed to catch a train.

I am vegetarian on saturdays so ordered a veg pasta which their head waiter said they would be able to give me. My son ordered a kizhi porotta and my wife ordered paal kappa and fish curry.

After a while after taking our order the head waiter said that the fish dish was no longer available. So my wife asked them to bring any available chicken curry.

Within 10 minutes my pasta arrived. However I was unable to start as my son's order and my wife' order hadn't arrived.

After another 15 minutes my son's kizhi porotta arrived. By then we were all pretty impatient as we weren't able to start eating without all our food coming.

A good 40 minutes after we had placed the order and after several reminders to the, staff my wife's paal kappa arrived. However instead of the chicken curry which she had ordered because fish was "not available" she found that a fish curry had been brought.

When I began eating my veg pasta , to my shock i found there was chicken in it. Whereas I had expressly asked for vegetarian pasta as I only ate vegetarian on saturdays.

I called and pointed this out to the head waiter. who looked embarrassed , but quickly moved on to cater to other guests without further concern about me.

I then got up and went to the billing counter for the bill as I had had quite enough and moreover needed to leave in a hurry. I repeated my experience with the non veg pasta to the lady at the billing counter , at the same time asking her to prepare my bill.

She at least looked embarrassed and called the floor manager and told him the issue. This gentleman nonchalantly proceeded to print my bill and collected my payment from my debit card without word of apology or any visible intent of redressing my grievance and disillusionment.

This clearly displays the very poor quality of management and customer relations that the new owners of the property are following.

Anyone planning to visit this place .....be prepared for zero customer attention.

Moreover portions served were very small and far from filling and my wife and I finally had to go to another resturant after dropping my son at the railway station, to have a...

I was very pleased to see Olan had opened a branch here. Olan is operating from where the old Kokki restaurant used to be.

I have had breakfast and dinner here.

For breakfast the items are reasonably priced and the Ghee Roast and coffee was very tasty. I would have liked to see Egg Roast on the menu, but sadly that is missing.

At breakfast time the staff are attentive and friendly.

At dinner time there is a vast and varied menu. I was disappointed to see Biriyani items were over by 7.30pm. Maybe they had an unexpected rush.

I was delighted to see Pothu Variyellu with accompaniments on the menu, especially since their first restaurant was in Wayanad.

Unfortunately this was below par. Maybe they should try from the Wilton group or WMO Qatar which are both in Wayanad. The meat was tough and lots of gristle.

The soups and Pidiyum Kozhiyum were good, but I wouldn't say they were a must try.

A pleasant surprise was a complimentary Sulimani before the meal.

The parottas were good but once again nothing special.

Lime Tea was good..

I will be going again to try other items.

EDIT

Went back for breakfast after two months, I was pleased to see they had taken my suggestion and added Egg Roast to the menu. Unfortunately I don't think it's value for money, as it had only a single egg. Other restaurants of this standard provide two eggs at this price point. Needless to say cheaper restaurants provide two eggs at a lower price point. Maybe it's something for the management to consider.

Although I had praised the Ghee Roast previously, the one today was not good, it was too brittle. The dosa costs a few rupees to make, why spoil your reputation by serving sub standard food. It was truly a disappointment. I sincerely hope it was a one off experience and not how you intend to go forward.

As always this was my...

Today happened to visit the OLAN restaurant around 8.15 pm. We were seated in 1st floor. It was essential the peak time. We tried Karumuru kozhi Murgh malai tikka Swargathile kozhi Porotta Kizhi biriyani

The food was decent. Just above average in my opinion 👍 swargathile kozhi was a more sour( similar to a fish tawa fry; the sourness goes well with fish, but not with chicken, only ⭐️⭐️ for that, but yes it was softly cooked).

But the wait was frustrating and tiring!!!!! It took literally more than hour for the food to be ready. We had almost lost our patience. Got the main course at around 9.30. And the food was served cold. On informing the staff, he took the food to reheat. Juices were served after a long wait. We had to wait another 30 min to get the bill after finishing the dinner.

There were hardly 2-3 staff to take the order for the entire floor. I could see them running from one table to another. Moreover I could see that the food was brought from the ground floor kitchen. On asking they told me that they told me that they had to run & climb each time to get the food from the downstairs kitchen. Dear concerned person, please do hear out your staff. I could see them struggling with shortage of staff and juggling between the customers. They were trying hard to do their job, but it wasn’t working. Please do show humanitarian support to them and appoint more staffs or do something about the kitchen etc. I literally couldn’t tell the staff anything because I could understand the entire mess!!! It’s not their fault. Customers won’t suffer...

We visited this restaurant today and, unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, we waited over 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated, we ordered the Sadya, Chicken Biryani, and Pidi with Chicken. Shortly after, a staff member informed us that both the Sadya and Chicken Biryani were unavailable, which was understandable given the time was around 3:45 PM. We then adjusted our order to include their special Pothichoru and substituted the Chicken Biryani with Beef Biryani. A few minutes later, the waiter returned to inform us that Chicken Biryani was now available, so we reverted to our original choice. After an additional 15-minute wait, our food finally arrived. Regrettably, the Pothichoru was disappointing. It appeared to be hastily assembled with leftovers from the kitchen, lacking the taste and care one would expect. They wrapped the pothichoru after I ordered . The Chicken Biryani was equally underwhelming, consisting mainly of plain rice with a solitary piece of chicken and devoid of the rich masala flavor typically associated with this dish. We managed to enhance the taste by combining it with the gravy from the Pidi with Chicken, which, to its credit, was quite flavorful. We expressed our concerns to the staff, who acknowledged the shortcomings and admitted it was a mistake on their part. While we appreciate the acknowledgment, the overall experience left much to be desired.

Olan – A Coastal Feast Done Right If you're in the mood for bold coastal flavors and a meal that speaks of the sea, Olan delivers with flair and authenticity. Nestled in a cozy setting, Olan blends South Indian warmth with a seafood-forward menu that hits all the right notes. We started with the Seafood Platter, a vibrant spread that immediately impressed with its freshness and variety. The fish was perfectly grilled, juicy on the inside with a beautifully charred crust. Calamari rings were tender (not rubbery!), and the accompanying chutneys added a welcome zing. The highlight, though, was the Prawns Tawa Fry—a fiery, aromatic dish where every prawn was coated in a masala that clung like a flavor-packed second skin. Smoky, spicy, and slightly tangy, it’s a dish that demands to be eaten with your fingers and chased with something cold. To balance the spice, the Pal Porotta was a perfect companion. Flaky, soft, and buttery, it soaked up the rich gravies and masala with ease, making every bite a harmonious blend of texture and taste. Service was friendly, the ambiance relaxed, and the food? Comforting and memorable. Olan is definitely worth a visit if you’re craving honest seafood with soul.
