Editing my earlier review, I had visited the restaurant last week for dinner with my friends. Even though I had booked a table for 6 in advance, no one bothered to call me call back and confirm the booking and when we reached on time, there was no table which could accommodate us together and we had to sit in adjacent tables. The whole experience went down hill from there. There were only 4 people to serve including the manager (assuming from his different uniform). To speak of cleanliness, the tables were sticky and even the counters where buffet was served were not cleaned properly. Having visited several BBQ Nation outlets earlier, I felt that the taste and spread of the buffet has gone down tremendously. We had to wait several times for getting a curry refilled into the buffet tray, for someone to hand over the kulfi from the kulfi table and throughout the 1.5 hours we spent, no one bothered to clear the plates off our table so we had to stack them on top of each other. The attitude of the staff was the only thing that was somewhat good, but that was overshadowed by the arrogance of Ms. Payal, who I believe is new to the job because she dropped several starter cobs while serving and was continuously blabbering to herself. Finally, after paying the bill, we asked for mouth freshener that is usually provided in sachets and one of the staff said it need to be refilled and they will bring it from the store below. As it was a bit late, I said if it was trouble, they need not fetch it. The staff member politely said it's not a problem for them, we'll just have to wait for 5 mins or so. That's when Ms. Payal stepped in to declare that it actually is trouble for them quite to our face. However, I didn't want to make an issue at the last hour so I smiled and left the restaurant with the guests I had brought in promising a great dining experience. It's been 3 days since this event happened and I was confused whether to put out such a long and boring review and name a staff who was not fit for the BBQ Nation standards that I had seen earlier, but it's simply not a place everyone can visit every weekend, so I think it's the best I put forward my personal experience so that someone can...
Read moreThis is a Great buffet experience . New in our region. I could say, I go there just for the starters but I'd be lying. Desserts are great too. So is chat. There are many salads and fruits too. A Kulfi counter is also there. I rarely turn at the main course. Heard they are Great as well. The starters (in nonveg option)include Barbequed chicken, fish, prawns, pine apple served at the live grill on table. Potato barbeque with delicious sauce, a mutton dish, kebab are served separately. Fried corn is another delicacy. It's so Good. So are others. We can choose the spice level. There are two sauces at the table both of which are kind of sweet and mayonnaise also. Three other paints are also there along with pudina(mint) chutney. Beverages aren't included in the Buffet though, there are many. Main course is not my thing here. Salads are are Good. Dessert items aren't the same everyday. Green grapes Lassi was so Good. So was mango cheese cake. BBQ brownie was not so great for me. Gulab jamun and kheer were there. The kulfi counter offers a wide variety of kulfis with different interesting toppings. There is a chat counter which is another favourite spot. The ambience is great with music playing. In case of any special occasion they arrange celebration for that. There is Complementary cake added to birthday package.
If you are a nonveggie who is also a macrophage(big eater), this is your go. If u wanna treat Someone like that this is again the best choice. Great for foodie groups too. Not profitable for small eaters. May be bad idea for families sometimes. 685/- per nonveg adult. GST has its share as well. Two of us dined for 1435. One shortcoming was unavailability of wash inside the restaurant. Now there is hand wash. But still the wash room is outside , the common wash room of the mall. BBQ nation is one...
Read moreBefore I say anything about my experience with Barbeque Nation, Thrissur, let me make it clear that I visited Barbeque Nation, Thrissur since I am an ardent fan of Barbeque Nation during my time in Dubai & Abu Dhabi. However, my visit to Barbeque Nation, Thrissur along with my family & my friend's family was one of my biggest disappointments.
To start with, there was no proper air conditioning inside the restaurant, which the staff attributed to temperature arising out of grilling the food. The requested grills never reached the table on time and 4 to 5 reminders were required for each item to be delivered. Getting a spoon looked like a luxury even after 5 reminders. The staff were not even aware of the signature dishes served by Barbeque Nation. The staff were casual, non attentive and behaved like they suffered fom selective amnesia. The Manager of the restaurant is an utra disaster who tried to argue that some of the dishes which we asked for were never seved by Barbeque Nation. But, he had to swallow his words after we gave references of other Barbeque Nation branches. Even though we all pay the bill for food, the staff behaves as if they are proving free food. The only positive thing I can list is the hygiene and cleanliness maintained inside the restaurant. I recommend fellow foodies to think twice before eating out at Barbeque Nation, Thissur branch.
To Barbeque Nation Management:
It will be highly recommended to appoint some capable Manager for Barbeque Nation at Thrissur who is familiar with your dishes and ethics followed in Barbeque Nation. As the old saying goes, to many cooks spoil the broth. Hence, its better to have someone who knows how to handle things.
