Perfect example of how to ruin your business even when you can serve high-quality food.🥲
I have been to this restaurant 3 times. In the first 2 visits, I experienced this issue, but the same story was repeated on the 3rd visit also. So, I decided to put a review.
9:05 PM* - ordered ghee roast & coffee ☕️ 9:15 PM* - got served with delicious ghee roast 9:20 PM* - asked for extra chutney 9:25 PM* Nobody served chutney, so I asked for it again & along with that, I ordered one more extra ghee roast & reminded him about my pending coffee ☕️ (and I heard him scolding some other staff for not serving the coffee & chutney), patiently waited for sometime. 9:27 PM* - got the extra chutney 9:35 PM* - got served with 2nd ghee roast 9:45 PM* - finished my 2nd ghee roast but didn't get my coffee ☕️🥲, so I decided to wash my hands & pay the bill
*NB - Time mentioned here are approximate timings only. It's not 100% precise.
Went to the bill counter - got a bill for 2 ghee roast & 1 coffee - Total Rs. 230. Told the cashier that I didn't get my coffee, so pls give me a corrected bill. Got a new bill with 2 ghee roasts - Rs. 200. Paid it & left the scene.
End of story... 💔
Summary of story ➡️Delicious food ✅️ ➡️Poor Service (Lack of commitment)🥲 ➡️Ambience - average👍
NB - In the picture, note that the steel glass was served with drinking water. Please don't mistake it...

Ghee Podi Masala Dosa - Rs.120/- (9.5/10)
Hello Foodies, Finally I got the chance to try out the food from the newly opened Sopanam restaurant located near Tagore Hall, Calicut Beach Road. Although this place was opened few months ago, every time I pass through that area I used to see the place crowded with no seating space. Talking about the food, it is delicious and I would definitely be visiting this place when I crave for some good veg food. You might feel the place is bit over priced but considering the quality of food, the ambience and the service provided I would say it is a good deal. You can literally feel the ghee and other flavours, they made sure ghee is not used too much as Compared to Rameshwaram Cafe in Bangalore. Dosa comes with 3 different chutney and sambar and trust me guys, the consistency of all those were top notch, thick gravy and tasty too. Now talking about the place it is air conditioned with seating space which can accommodate around 30-35 people at a time, also have one washroom. The place is well maintained and hygienic. They have plenty of veg options, menu is attached along with the images. So next time when in Calicut and you are craving for some good vegetarian food, separate dosas and idly I would highly recommend this place to you...
Read moreI have been here multiple times for breakfast. These are my opinions: Food is delicious, slightly overpriced, smaller in quantity/size than competitors, well cooked 75% of times Ambience is pleasant, well-lit, moderately spacious, light music Parking is very small, chaotic, and one can easily get locked in with a vehicle who came after us Waiting area is terrible, with a two seater sofa, no one to take down your names in a list. You have to find a seat on your own, compete with others who came before and after you, irritate the ones already eating to get up fast by standing near them. There is literally no space inside or outside to stand and wait, and no one to tell you how long to wait or if your turn has come! Service is poor, with confusions related to orders, resulting in delays, mixing up of items, missed items and wrong items. Getting additional requests like chutney or water is hassle, so we dont bother. Staff are either too zoned out, or too arrogant. Poor management, with no options for feedbacks, grievances or complaint resolutions.
To sum it up, it feels like a glorified hostel canteen that serves great food in small portions which you have to fight tooth...
