Read moreWe stayed at Grand Hyatt for 2 nights in the month of March 2023 and happened to eat here one of those 2 nights.
The ambience is good, the service is excellent, the waiter is patient in explaining what each item is, the lady at the entrance is welcoming and friendly. For all this 5 stars.
When it comes to the actual food though, I'd say not more than 3.5/5. This is my personal opinion and the people who accompanied me seemed to like the food better than I did. The food isn't bad or anything, just that i expected more flavor from galangal and lemon grass.
I will go dish wise :
Tom kha ghai : 5/5. Very flavorful hot soup in coconut milk base.
Gai tord ta krai : 4/5. Some prawn dish which I'm being told was good.
Gai satay : 4.5/5. Boneless grilled chicken on skewers with peanut sauce
Nasi Goreng : 5/5. Very well flavored fried rice.
Kway tiew phad si : 2/5. Stir fried noodles which I'm being told was bad.
Phad med mamuang : 4/5. Seemed like stir fried beef in black sauce. Very good.
Jasmine : 4/5. Simple and good steamed sticky rice.
Geeng kiew wan gai : 2/5. My real disappointment was this dish for the fact that this was what i looked forward to the most, i love the flavor of green thai curry, the flavor is normally bursting in the mouth and goes very well with sticky jasmine rice. But that was not the case. I have had very flavorful green curry from Westin-Kolkotta, Thai Chi-Dubai, Little Bangkok-Dubai, Royal Orchid-Dubai.
The net total came to INR 6,500/- which is not too bad, but we ate there with higher...
Read moretl;dr: fantastic food, service, ambiance, and location, despite confusion with the Google Reservation system and between the hotel front desk staff and the restaurant staff regarding special holiday menu for Christmas
—
Restaurant has informed us that they are not viewing any reservation information on their side and that any reservations made will be accepted without properly confirming whether availability for a table at the restaurant actually exists or not.
We were also initially informed by the hotel where the restaurant is located that a la carte service was available for the evening and we chose to make the reservation with the restaurant via Google due to allergies (nut, peanut, cashew, chickpea, and sesame) in our party. Unfortunately when we arrived the staff informed us that they could not provide the a la carte menu due to a special Christmas buffet event.
After much discussion we were able to resolve the issue with the staff due to the allergy restriction and were able to get 3 dishes specially made for our party member off the a la carte menu while the 3 other members of our party had the buffet program.
Thankfully, the food and service was fantastic for all members including the member of our party who has allergies, and we were extremely grateful to the staff for accommodating us despite the initial confusion between the front desk staff at the hotel and the restaurant staff. But we still believe that the restaurant should not be accepting reservations on Google if they are not actually honoring online...
