Had dinner buffet yesterday priced at 1.5k+tax+servicecharge. We had dineout option and had 50% discount on this.

Coming to food options, the spread was pretty decent with lots of vegetarian options along with non vegetarian. Liked the entire North Indian spread - Dal, Paneer, Baingan Masala, Aloo Mutter. Starters n Biryani were tasty but very dry. There was a cauliflower baked cheese dish which I loved. Counter to make your own chat was nice. Kerala spread was not good at all. Beef curry was rly bad. Alleppey Fish curry was a bit bland and needed more sourness. In dessert section, liked Banana split and a berry pudding.. Rest of the items were just average. I also enjoyed spinach oats soup and the detox water.

Coming to the service part, the order for breads were never taken. It was told that order will be taken at the table but someone turned up after we finished our second course of meal. By end of first course, anyways we decided we din want any breads. We just wanted to have the sides. There was one live appam counter and took appam from there. We also ordered Americano and Cappuccino. They did not charge us...

Words aren't enough to express my frustration. I ordered dinner from this restaurant, the much "reputed" Novotel and because of the greatness of their packing it fell open on the road before I could even touch it. I don't understand the logic behind paper and carton packaging during such heavy rain when there's an orange alert in the district. Going green is fine but not at the cost of starving your customers. Never expected such poor treatment from Novotel. Disappointed at heart. I was famished when I ordered this, had to wait nearly for an hour..and this is what I get as a customer. I do understand certain things are out of our hands. But this was not like that as the carton packing and the feeble tapes on the paper container gave up right in front of my eyes. Deeply disheartened. I wasn't indeed angry at that point rather I was feeling helpless coz of the thought of waiting for another delivery. Sorry for the rant for anyone who...

Opted for dinner buffet. Unfortunately the spread was very minimal and most of the items were so bland. Paneer curry and beef roast was too bad. The semiya payasam was stale and I informed the same to staff. They had to remove it from the buffet. Ordered phulka and after following it up after 30 minutes they bought chapati. When I said I ordered phulka and not chapati they staff said “both are kind of similar”. I had to pause my eating at that point. This is not the kind of food and service we expect from a reputed star hotel chain.
