A high priced menu, decent ambience, poor service and just about okay food! This sums up my experience as we went as family and friends (my family and that of a friend's - 8 in all) on Saturday night, 09/02/2019. I had left this same feedback on their pad as well as the physical feedback form. I have not received a call or a note at least to suggest they had taken cognizance of the feedback. Either it has not reached the intended recipient or they aren't bothered.
The ambience is decent, not extraordinary. The pricing is around 4* but food is nowhere close to even an ordinary restaurant. The menu offers north Indian dishes. A normal soup would cost your around INR250, and coupled with terrible service that kind of instructs you to order 'half' soup when you ask for 1/2, is both smacking courtesy as well intrusive. A full soup that costs INR240, would cost INR130 for a half portion (when even 5 star restaurants will happily provide 1/2) and the attendant would top up his instruction saying that 'if you go for 1/2, you will get much lesser than if you go for 'half' portion. I am sure these people will never find a job in the better restaurants and hotels.
We had soups that were good (I liked it and so did my children). A Dhal curry also proved to be okay/ good. We also had a prawn dish that we were told was the chef's choice, as well as a Chicken masala, again proudly informed to us as the Chef's choice. We knew once it was over that we should exclude the 'Chef's choice' hereafter, in case we go again (unlikely). The prawn masala was high on spices and sour too, it was surely not the best I have had in recent times. I would rate it 2/5. The Chicken curry was a disappointment - a foodie would easily know it was perhaps 3-5 months in the freezer (a touch exaggerated but who knows if it was flown from a restaurant elsewhere :) ). Without flavour, fibrous and hard (not uncooked), it was a total disaster. The butter chicken masala we had was okay, nothing special and the steamed rice was hard and dry.
Not having beef in its menu is either not knowing Kerala and its tastes, or fear of something (?), or following the chef's orders (if that were so, it is all the more shameful for a chef of any stature to have biases on specific foods, and that too globally acclaimed meat), or a bias for north Indians (that would be hilarious).
Overall, forgettable food and service. Wish the owners take...

Though a bit on the upper spectrum cost wise, the ambience, service and the quality of the dishes are totally worth it.
The Owner of the outlet and his wife were there to oversee things. Gracious hosts to the very end, they explained their specialties and also ensured everything was up to the mark in terms of service, ambience, etc.
As soon as I sat down, a smiling waiter brought me a small glass of tangy lemonade, some fried Poppadoms and Mint chutney to whet my appetite and prepare for the feast ahead.
Went for the Chilli cheese chicken tikka, Dum Gosht biriyani and a Tarbooza Cooler(watermelon juice mixed with Fresh Mint & Black salt).
Chilli cheese chicken tikka – 515Rs(Must try dish) 6 pieces of boneless and juicy chicken tikka topped with melted cheese and chilli flakes. I fell in love with this dish as soon as I took a bite. The softness of the chicken pieces along with the cheesiness is like a cool evening breeze by the seaside.
As they say, cheese makes everything taste better.
Be warned, the dish is quite filling and if you are an average eater, I would suggest sharing it with our partner or friend to even things out.
Dum Gosht biriyani – 550Rs(Must try dish) The highlight of the show, the aptly named Dum Gosht biriyani.
The unique feature of the Biriyani is you get only juicy and tender mutton pieces in the dish. There won’t be even a single bone piece to be found anywhere. So you are getting the full worth of the money you pay for the biriyani. The biriyani is prepared in the authentic Awadhi style with the soft mutton, aromatics and the rice taking centerstage. I was truly surprised by the amount of flavor and taste packed into this Biriyani without the usage of over the top masalas or condiments. Mutton, aromatics and the rice matters in this dish.. nothing else.
Tarbooza Cooler – 139Rs The refreshing taste of the pure watermelon juice punctuated by the subtle hints of black salt and fresh mint is just what the Doctor ordered for a sunny day and a heavy meal.

Papads are the firt thing that they serve, along with a welcome drink. We had green apple flavoured drink. The drink rejuvenated my tastebuds and was like 'dil mange more'.. We had cream mutton soup as starter and for main couse we ordered muttor pulao (green pea pulao) and Green Masala Mutton. Though I am not a mutton lover, this was the only time in my life when i LOVED mutton. They were perfectly cooked and didnt had the muttony aroma. The meat was tender juicy and layered. They melted in my mouth. The best ever mutton i had in my entire life. The pulao blended so well with the mutton. I ate twice of what i normally have. With each bite i was literally licking my fingers. Then was the time for the star dish. Even thought i was full and heavy, the aroma and texture made me fall in love with it. I wish I could lock them in my mouth and pause the time. The Desi Fish & Chips. It had a crispy body with juicy fish inside. I could not restrict myself from having just one. The dish had a perfect balance of the spices and go well with tomato ketchup. I would say it was a dish from heaven. Would love to have it any day any time any where. Had to forcefully restrain my tastebuds as I didnt had an inch left in me to consume desert. But whatever i had, left an everlasting impression in me. One the best ever lunch in my lifetime..
The only thing i felt bad, was for myself; not exploring the restaurant before. I could confidently refer anyone THE YELLOW CHILLI. Thank you Mr....
