AAMI BANGALI RESTAURANT BAGHAJATIN ( Jadavpur) — Restaurant in Kolkata

I have watched several videos of this restaurant on YouTube. All the food vlogger has given their opinion and most of them recommended positively. But I was surprised by the ambience and service as I entered. I had pre-booked it from Swiggy Dine out as I was having Swiggy One membership. This place is famous for thali (as per the notion) so I ordered their premium mahabhoj thali and dab chingri. They told us if we pay through Swiggy then thali is not available and dab chingri is not available anyway. Then we decided to pay directly then they served the Mahabhoj Thali. As the food came one two veg items were decent but as we moved to the non veg part not a single item was fresh. We have separately ordered chingri malaikari that was also third class not prepared in a proper way. Also we have ordered basanti polao which was again a disaster. Overall the experience is very bad. Also I will ask Swiggy to intervene in the matter or previously mention that the restaurant can give any clause as they prefer. I will not recommend this...

Too much sweet in all the food we ordered. There are dishes where subtle sweetness is required, but not in everything. We ordered Nabadwip's Misti Doi in dessert, as one of my non-bengali colleagues is so eager to have it, they served a normal Sweet curd from any sweet shop we get, when asked they gave a wonderful reply, their cook stays in nabadwip that's why it is called nabadwip's doi.. When ordered jhuri aloo bhaja they served the typical aloo bhujia which we generally get in a packet in hot chips or in any bhujia store.

Overall not a worth visiting restaurant. The restaurant doesn't have a washroom.

Just by serving the food in bronze utensils, and using some kolkata train and tram pictures doesn't make you a good Bengali cuisine restaurant.

I won't even recommend it to my non-Bengali...

The worst bengali restaurant i have ever ordered food from they are bloody cheaters.. in swiggy i ordered a basanti polao and there was a buy 1 get 1 offer so i opted for two pieces of chicken and then swiggy gave one plate of alu bhaja for free worth rs 130 i dont know from they are importing the potatoes from anyways.. Now let me start with alu bhaja they have given me a pinch of alu bhaja in an envelope like it was 1/4th of the quantity shown in the picture.. chicken kosha oh my god the pieces they have given is like a rib having some flesh attached.. and now the basanti polao my god it was just yellow rice no cashew no raisins nothing... first of all my question if you cannot afford to give things in discount why you run offers to thug people..? They have literally ruined my...
